Agreed running lean seems to be likely cause. Fuel injected you say. Is it a smart ecu as in learns itself or do you programe? You need to get more fuel in it. Don't run it hard if it's running lean. I'm a 2stroke man but I'm sure it won't do 4stroke any good. Aesthetically, living your work. Looks awesome. Massive potential here. Get that engine singing before you move on. Sound
@maxhartry68072 жыл бұрын
Right, is your fuel gravity fed or fuel pump. When it took the tree down it showed it has plenty of power and torque. So it runs in short bursts correct. But quickly starves of fuel or loses power. Have you checked the fuel cap is venting correctly. Had this a few times where tank vent was blocked and created vacuum preventing fuel flow. Just thinking of easy things to check. Love the look of this. Really compact. I've got a 600cc bandit engine I'm planning on building into my own crosskart. Hope you get yours sorted.

Those frosted plug tips are caused by a lean run condition is caused by an improper by an improper air to fuel ratio (to much air) you probably have a leaky gasket some place in your fuel system Its possible your fuel system pressure is low (Bad pump bad hose) Could be a hose that has swollen on the inside and restricting fuel
@XJRRIDER2 жыл бұрын
white plugs means its lean , reason can be the open exhaust - put a OEM or muffler on it with a DB Killer in it then there will me more back pressure. if you want to keep the open exhaust you need to tune the bike on a dyno probably with a Dynojet kit or something like that from another brand.

Just want to make a comment on the axle shaft. The best material for the shaft is titanium period. Half the weight of steel with twice the strength easily. This is definitely the way to go. Another method is to get a used kart shaft which is hollow from Kart classified or some four wheelers with the tapered turned shaft ends. They can be had from junkyards all over the country.
@SilvaDreams2 жыл бұрын
Titanium isn't half the weight, it's maybe 45% tops if pure titanium and most good steels will be stronger than even titanium alloys. Titanium mostly excels where heat is involved, though as an axels it's not going to really matter weight wise verse the weaker strength and cost. Specially since a single 1" diameter by 1ft length rod would cost nearly 200$
@victoryfirst28782 жыл бұрын
@@SilvaDreams You are correct, I was just taking a number of the top of my mind. But 5 percent off is not bad for just pulling out a number from ones head. Am off with the strength statement between steel and titanium. Please do not throw stones fella. I live in a house with windows. Way better strength to weight ratio. Way better in the heat department. I have a few shafts for axles lying around so to me price is not a deterrent. Would be willing to just grab a 1 1/4 inch diameter shaft and go. But you are correct when buying new the sticker shock is hard on one's wallet. One last thing Silver Dreams, I prefer the natural gray color of Titanium over rusty red steels. Also have inconel shafts too. They have been laying around for twenty plus years. Peace VF

Hope you get it Running Right. If you watch any of JunkYardDigs (i do not personally know him) he goes over a ton of tricks with carbs and shit, dudes a mad scientist and making it run with no new parts sometimes lol. if its fuel injected. check for proper fuel pressure, or just increase it if all else fails. causes more fuel out the inj per programmed duty cycle. like a cheat way to richen or lean without actually fixing shit. increase fuel pressure by restricting return line, more,, or completly another good trick. spraying carb cleaner or either around intake connections, vaccuum lines, inj seals or other sealed air components between Carb/ Or MAF (air flow sensor) and listening for engine idle change can help locate areas that are sucking in air. GO backwards. use a vape to smoke out the air intake system heavy and a flashlight. may see smoke exit leak areas. hope im of some help, Stay safe out there in aussie land. its all coming to us soon enough :-|

Does that have a brain box for the fuel injection, you likely are running 2 lean, with the mods you made, and the computer needs adjusted for those mods. And as others mentioned, replace fuel filter and you may have to replace or add a furl pump, that tank may have inside of it a tilt shut off, it looks pretty angled. Some of those were designed to shut off on tilt, to prevent fire. The pumps may be causing that to shut off. Just tossing out things to look at.
@DktheWelder2 жыл бұрын
It does have a brain box which I wish I could adjust, it has ran fine in this configuration before . But something is wrong with the fuel system like you say I will try the things you said thank you 👍
@gabbermaikel2 жыл бұрын
i think the fuel pickup in the tank might actually be the problem. Atleast im guessing you dont run a fuel filter on it? If you do that might also be the problem. But 1 of those seems to be blocked or partially blocked. It seems to run okish at first, and then when you put your foot down in runs out of fuel after a few seconds. So i would look in that direction for the problem.

Would not be bad idea get them checked/clean them properly just to be sure that potential issue is removed. Other thing might potentially be MAP sensor if its blocked or faulty. It would be giving less air data to ecu witch would give less fuel causing lean condition. Of course there could be air leak after the MAP sensor again giving false info on how much air goes in and then there is clogged up fuel lines, blocked fuel filter, crap in the tank, damaged or blocked fuel pump.. really number of reasons.. this is why fuel injection is horrid. Lovely when it works but horrid to repair comparing to carburetor.
