What makes the Typhoon even scarier is that this isn't even the battle it's designed to fight; it was designed as a hardcore BVR Meteor-slinger, supersonic agility first and foremost. Its BFM characteristics are amazing, but isn't not optimised for it. In a 'real' battle, these MiGs would have been facing the Iraqi Air Force's problem of entire flights of aircraft blowing up before they know they're under attack.

In this situation, an AMRAAM would be better. A meteor or any ramjet really would only work well at speeds above mach 1.5, below that and it accelerates really slowly. a solid rocket motor propelled missile like the AMRAAM is much more reliable down low, that's why the eurofighter often carries AMRAAMs with a side of meteors.

@@realMaverickBuckley have you seen the new updated version the RAF built? It’s insane. Even if you don’t have eyes on the plane can lock on aircraft even if it’s on your tail. They’re updating their missiles so even if they’re behind you you can drop a missile that’ll immediately dump speed and hit the aircraft on your tail. It uses LOS and an IR mix, you literally can’t hide from it.

The German pilot would have no idea what the PIRATE IRST was as the German's cheaped out and didn't equip theirs with it. The RAF's Typhoon have also had a lot more upgrades than the German fleet with the P3E Centurion work.

Mig-29, especially NK Mig-29, doesn't carry Fox 3s. Possible Ukr Mig-29 can carry AIM-120 or Meteor but it's not a standard capability for the aircraft.

Would love to see the F-22 or Su-57 against multiple adversaries. Or even 2v2/3v3 scenarios. There's a lot of discourse on how supermaneuverability is over-rated (pun intended) anywhere outside of a 1v1, because it kills energy and makes the jet an easy target. Compare and contrast with Typhoon which is one of (if not the) best energy fighters.

@@steve390gold the missiles are all simulated to the fullest they can be with the data they get so this shouldn't be very far off. Especially becuase the migs are using older missiles without the declassified information

Quite likely. The DASS package on the Typhoon is probably the most comprehensive defence system on any aircraft in the world. It's one thing to lock on to a Typhoon and fire, but it's quite another to get the missile to hit it. Chaff, flares, towed radar decoy and jammers: Typhoon's got the lot.

Well, maybe except the moment of missiles going "pitbull"... Pretty sure Eurofighter's radar would be UFO tech to equipment of North Koreans planes, with also radars jammed propably to useless level.

I'll start with I love your commentary especially when you dictate what you are doing and why you are doing it. I've learned a ton. Why not do the 1v1 with another human in IL2? You have vids out for almost if not all DCS jets/props vs each other. I can't speak for others but I'd sure the heck like to see you pilot different planes (knowing you are a good pilot) vs others.
