Re shortening the long strap....If the leather is very thick, I take jobs like that to the shoe/boot mender's.... doesn't cost very much. OR , if you can sew, and the leather is thinner, just cut off what isn't needed and adjust the length to suit. Only takes a few stitches if your machine + a strong needle can cope! Am new to your vlogs and enjoying!

Maybe it's tacky but for my really long straps I tie a loop knot on the end to shorten it. For me that becomes part of the design. In fact I worn one that way last night to the theatre. 😊 That sage green is pretty; I have a structured bag in bright kelly green ☘️.

One thing I do is take all my bags to the shoe repair shop. They clean purses, and they may be able to alter your strap.

Green sage bag: A suggestion, cut the strap at the brass ring end, remove the remaining pieces of course and thread it like a yoga strap. Or practice on a belt to achieve a knot that would be acceptable. Should hold tightly and solve the length problem.

Why don't you try your local shoe repair shop if there is one local. They could shorten the strap on the bag for you. I know ours does jobs like that or used to.
