You should write math questions or something educational on each Jenga block so when a kid pulls a block they have to answer the multiplication question or something like that :) we do it with truth or dare at the bar I go to... lol!

Debbie, you are so incredibly kind. I have a handful of chapter books with characters on the spectrum (Counting by 7s, Rain Reign, Rules, Al Capone Does My Shirts... just to name some that come to mind!) but I don't know if I have any picture books with characters who are on the spectrum! I would love to add those books to my classroom library. The 4 chapter books that I listed actually all have my "heart" stickers because they are some of my all time favorites!

As a mom of a kiddo with ADHD this is awesome! My son’s favorite book is Baxter turns his buzz down; a story for little kids with ADHD. We talk about that book every single day when he is struggling. We pretty much have it checked out of the library all the time....one day I hope we can afford to buy it.

And Jenga would be a really fun game to play especially on rainy days, where kids would have to eat & play inside too :) I remember loving having lunch inside on rainy days and playing games with my classmates (fun times). Just a thought....You should store your white pens with the cap down. I have found with gel pens that the ink flows better when they are stored with the point down! Great job on your classroom. I remember what my first classroom looked like any moons ago and it was pitiful! I kind of wish I could start my career over just so I can document my first year better. I’m just wondering have your students already been taught cursive? I noticed a lot of cursive in your vinyl cut outs and I’m wondering although it is super cute and looks great if the kids can even read it? When I was in school we only learned cursive in grade 5.

Sarah When I was in school, we learned cursive in 3rd grade. I'm not sure about my current school and when they're taught yet (that's something I will have to check on closer to when school starts), but I'm really not worried about it. If necessary, I'll just tell my students what it says and we'll move on from there. The information they actually need will be printed below (such as the schedule or learning goals).
