The Iron Snail is a men’s fashion vlog starring a young man named Michael and featuring a snail no bigger than a quarter. The two are set on taking over the world of fashion by creating a clothing line to end all clothing lines. Until then, we’re here to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about the best clothing out there, from the highest quality raw denim jeans to the warmest jacket to the sturdiest boots…the Iron Snail has got you covered. (written by Taylor, though Michael is sometimes known to talk about himself in the third person… xoxo)

Love these videos, I've been learning a lot watching them. As I get older I am getting fed up with lower quality clothing for many reasons but also can't afford to have a closet full of 100$ shirts so these videos are helpful. Also I'm learning that not all good shirts have to cost 100$ and not all 100$ shirts are good, very interesting. Thanks for the great video!

Great video! One thing to note. The Bronson tubular T-shirt isn’t loopwheeled, it’s circular knit. They specify on their website that they are knit with more efficient circular knit machines, which is why the price is much lower than any loopwheeled tee. This is similar to Naked & Famous’ circular knit tee. Still no side seams, but the machine uses tension on the thread to knit ~10 times faster than loopwheel machines.

Surprisingly the uniqlo t shirts which are sometimes marketed as their "color" shirts or "dry" shirts which come in sealed packaging are really durable, soft, and comfortable. I like them more than the supima cotton shirts they have. I've had like 8 of them for a full decade now without any holes or collar stretching. I probably got half of them on sale for $4. They're a cotton poly blend so not exactly a 100% cotton shirt but they've stood the test of time and hundreds of workouts each.

Checking the care instructions it says line dry but I just dryer it on a moderate heat.

With the long tees, you could just tuck them. As I'm getting older, I'm starting to prefer the tucked t-shirt look. Definitely looks tidier and more classic than untucked. I wish more brands made longer t-shirts so you can tuck them without having to worry about them coming untucked at the back. I have a Dickies Porterdale pocket t-shirt that's 30 inches long, so it's a good length for tucking. I think the workwear brand t-shirts are designed to be tucked because you don't want loose fabric flapping around if you work around machinery.

Howies organic T-shirts are really good, 180gsm & organic. I’ve have some of their Ts that I’ve worn for over 10 years. The fit is quite snug so you might need to size up one size. ASKET (not to be confused with ARKET) make really good Ts (made in Portugal), you can also choose the length. ARKET (not to be confused with ASKET) have heavyweight organic Ts that are quite good

Velva-Sheen offers a few different styles of t-shirt that also come in different weights. The one you are wearing I am not familiar with, the tees that they call their Pac Tees (because they come in packs), and then their rolled t-shirts (which come rolled in a Kraft paper tube). The rolled tee is very light and has visible slub & is a boxier and shorter fit, "vintage" fit from the 70s. It seems that the rolled tee is the lightest weight, then the pac tee, and then the line of pigment dyed shirts.

I honestly do not understand why the 'Made in USA' tag is used as a statement of quality, while 'Made in China' is used as a caveat (Evident here in this video, but I've seen different fashion youtubers espouse the sentiment) Here in Bangladesh, we can make any type of clothing you want, in any material you want, stitched in the precise way you want. The indian subcontinent, especially the Subah of Bengal has a long history of high quality apparel. A Filson Work Jacket, for example, will cost 85-105 dollars to make here, depending on the order volume and lead time. And Filson sells them for about 400 dollars. Even with the massive overhead, it's cheaper and of comparable quality to other alternatives. At this point, the only thing we're lacking are brands to properly market and sell these clothes ourselves.

@@no4365 That seems like either a very uninformed opinion or a malicious one. The working conditions are what they are because of economic realities. Hypothetically should there be no demand for garments, the working conditions would not improve just because the garments sweatshops are gone. Exporting improves the lives of the workers. They can over time demand higher wages. The growth in productivity results in an increase in wealth over time, which corrects the working conditions of workers eventually.
