Thank you for this video. Last night, I felt like my world was crumbling in front of me, when last week I felt like I was on cloud nine. I started to sink deeper into a depression this morning but I listened to this video while taking a walk and it dug me out of that mental hole. I’m reminded to embrace adversity and let go with peace. I’m also reminded that it’s okay to have these emotions and feelings, but what matters is how you navigate and overcome them. For all those going through a hard time, keep your head up and keep sharpening your wellbeing with these Stoic principles. Take care, everyone

Me n my wife lost our baby girl on Wed night 19 weeks into our pregnancy. It was our 5th n final round of IVF. Then i nearly lost my wife to a sepsis infection. We come home from the hospital last night n my wife is on the mend. This channel has helped get me through these dark days. As Publilius Syrus said, "Not all is lost when something is lost." Thankyou for your video's.

Wisdom is consistency in virtues, in always doing the good thing; happiness is a side effect of that consistency. To be always happy is to be always virtuous, to be consistent in always choosing right over wrong.

This is my GIFT to you and anyone reading this.. These suggestions have made me the person I am today. So take one or two or all of them and transform yourself to a super being. Thank me later. I personally did and do everything listed below and I got massive results. 1. Write out a statement of your Short Term Goal AND your Chief Aim/Main Goal... on a "goal card" or paper. 2. Write it out 50 times a day for 30 days preferably around the same time each day. After the 30 days, you go back and write it out ONCE a day. This is your compass in life. 3. Set your phone alarm to go off every 3 hours (to disrupt your daily routine) and when it goes off write down your statement and then close your eyes and see yourself with your goal for 2 mins. 4. Record your statement in your voice on a voice recorder on your phone, and play it back to yourself on loop while you sleep and as often as you can daily, example... in the shower or when you are using the rest room. 5. Find an accountability partner. If you cannot find someone, then you MUST write out your statement DAILY. By doing this you make yourself accountable to YOURSELF. 6. Find a community or FB group/group chat, etc and from that community form a Mastermind with one or two people who have studied from REAL Mentors and are giving VALUE. There is a "Law of Giving" and many people are using it. Andrew Carnegie told Napoleon Hill this back in the early 1900s. Its a LAW and it works. Its what I am doing with this post. 7. Auto-Suggest (Think and Grow Rich Chapter 4) to yourself in front of the mirror in the bathroom at least twice a day. Look directly INTO your eyes OR one eye and recite your WRITTEN statement. Then splash cold water on your face. This sudden shock seals the thought into the subconscious due to emotional and physical shock from the cold water. 8. Write out ten "I AM" statements a day. example. I AM happy, I AM more confident. Use the word MORE; implying you already have it, but want more. You trick the brain. 9. Write out 5 things you HAVE that you are grateful for and 5 things that you are grateful for that are coming to you. Mix up the list one after the other. 10. When in public tell people you see that you love them in your mind. Simply say "I LOVE YOU" to them as you pass them, especially when driving, because their subconscious hears and FEELS the intention. Say it to about 10 to 15 people daily. This increases your Good Karma. It might seem like a lot. But it took me less than two weeks to incorporate the list into my life and 32 days later I started getting massive results. What have you got to lose, try some or ALL and see your results. Let me know know too. Have a great day... and thanks for reading.

I'm deeply grateful for your commitment to show us the path of wisdom and strength to overcome life's hardship. A big thank for this community. Ahh! KZbin is full of stoic inspirational channels, there's even one which dare to name itself exactly as this one, but there's a very important difference between The Stoic Community and any other similar: the AI voice. There is something wise and profoundly inspiring in the voice used to guide us in every topic presented in this channel. I assume the voice is AI created but based on a real person's voice (?)... well, I'm not sure but, please do not ever change it. It makes a big difference. Thank you!

"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment." - Marcus Aurelius In the face of loneliness or depression, how can the wisdom of Marcus Aurelius guide us to reassess our perceptions and find strength within ourselves?

Sadly, it cannot unless the person is willing to (a) accept that they have that agency, and (b) put it into action. I expressed much this same thought to a friend recently by way of encouragement; the idea that all of us have the power to choose how we react to things that happen to us. His response was a curt statement that the idea was "crap" and that 'all I was doing was trying to make psychology be a one size fits all thing' which by virtue of his superior life experience he knew wasn't true. At that point I dropped it and went on with my day and left him to his own devices.

Had a hand injury occur about a month and a half ago at work. It wasn't even my fault, yet so many people are backing me into a corner. Stoicism has been the only thing that has kept me calm and centered. I have tried EMDR, anxiety meds, and the only thing to help is prayer on top of stoicism. I have no control over what happens to me, but I do in how I react and honor my autonomy. Make sure to protect yourselves and never give up.

Sorry, but number 12 sounds like crap. It keeps telling us it's not about giving in, it's not about passivity, but that's exactly what it is and I find no peace or calm in it. It's also not a powerful antidote to those caught up in this as I am. It is a battle with an unknown path, requiring an unknown effort towards unfamiliar ends to attempt to get there. You don't just do this if you are stuck in the battle, any more than one effortlessly goes from beathing air to breathing water. Its a fight that we don't even know the rules to. Frustrating. That said... Love the teaching of Stoicism! So many of the lessons and thought processes have proven helpful to me.

Number 12 is about not letting outside circumstances have power over you. If you are reacting to it instead of just letting it be it’s showing you where you need growth and most likely a trauma or false belief is tied to it. Once you figure out what it is that causes you to react instead of just letting it be…. you will find peace. It’s about accepting that you can only control yourself, not outside circumstances and then letting it go. It’s learning to trust the unknown.
