I loved this video! I am a healthcare provider to adolescents who often are living with food insecurity. In our area, there have been efforts similar to Fazla (not as good I don’t think) but it’s called Foodlink. They go to many locations in the city selling “less than perfect” produce, free to those on food assistance already. They are also a presence at my city’s public market 3 times a week. Still, access is hard. The clinic where I work is inside a high school and the teachers keep a good cupboard for kids whose families need groceries and they can stop any time to take food home. They do the same with clothing. Now it’s our holiday time and we in the health clinic got to choose some patients we know are very needy. It was so hard to choose in the next week many families will get enough for the holidays and then some. Thank you, Refika, for this wonderful video, for always remembering not to waste, to make healthy food, etc. I always watch your videos and this one really resonated with me! Much love to you, your staff, everyone in Türkiye! ❤❤❤

In Canada there is something called Second Harvest, which many grocery stores and restaurants partner with to rescue outdated but still edible foods for local foodbanks/soup kitchens etc. I work for one of the major grocery retailers in Canada and we send A LOT of food to the food bank through Second Harvest. (So much so that my small town can't always handle the quantity.) The foods we can't send to them (we have to be able to freeze it, if it's not boxed or canned) - vegetables, fruit and some other things largely goes to compost. Things have changed A LOT in the last couple years from where we were at when I first started working for this particular company. There is always a long way to go, but many improvements are truly been made.

I admire your dedication to your community and our earth. I wish we had less regulation that made this possible in my community. Making that amazing Gavurdağı for a Christmas party. IT IS SO GOOD! In the spirit of bereket I'll be adding the soft avocados I have that need to be used. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Each country has different rules about marking eggs and/or egg cartons. Usually, from the big egg producers in the U.S., there is a date on 1 end of the carton, as well as a number between 1 and 365. The number is the day of the year on the Julian Calendar on which the eggs were packed. On the Gregorian Calendar, the 1 corresponds to January 14th.

LOL. It is so interesting that your news clip about food waste came from Canada....it is truly shameful how much food is thrown away by grocery stores. They would rather throw it away than sell it cheaply. Thanks for this great review! Happy Holidays!

I buy free range organic eggs from as nearby as possible. My eggs aren't stamped, but the box has a QR code to meet the chooks; there's a livestream.

Hello from Down Under,🦘🦘Thanks you for a gret video as always. It's wonderful that you guys are educating the world about food waste. Given climate crisis and everything else in the world I hope you will also suggest to people that if they have a house with any land, please grow food, and share with community. Fruit trees, beans, herbs, cabbage, whatever. This is the only way the world will survive in the future as supported by many scientists around the world! Thank you again for your informative friendly videos!!❤❤🌻🌻

Blue cheese is SUPPOSED to have lines inside it!! That is where the young cheese has been pierced by needles to allow air into rhe interior, to encourage the mould to grow so beautifully.

The 'lines' in the blue cheese are where it was deliberately 'spiked' to let air in, because they mould wont grow without air

Thank you Refika this is good information. I was surprised about the spices. I had already changed the way I purchase them because of your videos but I still buy some already in the powder form. I have come to like roasting and crushing them myself so much more flavor and goodness. I can also plant some some in the seed form. Take care Refika. Merry Christmas.

I enjoy your videos as always. Food wasting is truly a shame. One area particularly disastrous is the prepared/cooked products, such as that in buffets and bakery.
