Would you like another one? I have a three year old male and two females that are a little younger. I love them all , however I either need to get rid of him or the girls together. He keeps attacking the girls, one of the girls more than the other and he's hurting her. He is most likely jealous because we had him first for about a year before we got the girls. I don't know how to stop him from hurting her and I simply can't be on guard every one of his waking hours. He is very demanding and needs lots of attention, but he's a great cat. He is leash trained, he uses his talk buttons, he's toilet training again, just have to see if I can get him all the way to the end of training. I am and will be extremely particular as to who he or the girls will go to. They are well taken care of , they are on freeze dried food, and get only the cleanest of treats and food.

My rescue’s mom was a melanated Bengal and he just turned 1. Although he is just half Bengal he definitely has the characteristics in his personality. We can’t get into a shower or bath without him joining us. Especially if the kids are in a bubble bath. He also loves to play fetch and his voice is more of a human tone than a cats meow. He loved being outdoors on his leash and we take miles long walks. He does have a lot of energy. All windows are open for him and we have catified our house. He’s not a lap cap but when it’s bedtime he has to be right up under us and regularly sleeps curled up in my legs or back etc He chooses when we are allowed to love on him😂
@EmmaVB82 Жыл бұрын
He sounds like a brilliant cat! 😻 Sounds like he also shares some characteristics with my Maine Coon cats, especially my ginger boy Harvey! He’s a total powerhouse and has so much energy, and really wants a lot of interaction to expend it (right now I’m watching and commenting on videos interspersed with playing his favourite game, “biscuit [kibble] catch/chase”)! His sister is much better at keeping herself occupied and entertained by sitting at the window and watching the wildlife in the giant oak tree in the park right next to us (I live in an apartment on the 5th floor so they definitely don’t have access to go out of those windows! 🙀), and she absolutely loves chasing plastic springs and balls around the place and needs/wants very little interaction from me when she gets going (and she talks to her “prey” when she gets excited and it’s the cutest thing 😻). Though she’s been watching my games with Harvey (she doesn’t want to join in but likes to watch from a safe place like inside the play tunnel, or on the circle scratcher bed just out of his jumping range), and does now really love when we play “catch the spring”, which involves me going to a corner of my bedroom, showing her the spring in my fingers, then throwing it up on to the bed for her - while I’m doing this she’s positioning herself often just outside the room, somewhere with a good long run-up, and she gets ready and LEAPS up to catch the spring while it’s still in the air, or at the very least, stops it before it bounces off the other side of the bed 😺 Harvey has so many vocalisations and will basically yell meows at me in different tones when he wants me to play, but Nika is much more of a chatterer/chirper ☺️ Harvey hasn’t yet got into the shower with me while it’s still been running, but almost every time he’ll appear as soon as the water’s stopped, when everything’s still really wet and I’m trying to squeegee down all the walls and floor, and he’ll come and sit in a puddle and try to catch the drips 😹

I wanted a Bengal for years. Then I actually started doing research on cats when I was in a position to get one. A Bengal still might be in my future, but for now we're content with our two domestic shorthair lads that showed up on our back porch saying that this was their home now. Our orange lad is loud and active enough for me! Though I wish he would 'walk' more than getting into bushes!

@@dreamcatcherjulie1 See, I don't agree with that mindset if someone wants a specific breed of cat/dog whatever. . .Yes, there are millions of cats out there for adoption. . .too many for any singular person to make a drop in the bucket. . .if someone wants a specific breed of cat from an ethical breeder checking health/genetics. . .people shouldn't gripe at them for it. We were good friends with our Bengal breeder, a small bengal was having her first litter she had 4, too many for her, the runt, Abi, was born with a deformed fourth leg, so in effect she was three legged. She was the most amazing cat we have had. She thought she was four-legged, so we had to watch her carefully. She would run like a crab in an arc, never a straight line. She had the most gorgeous rosettes with the glitter gene. She became so attached to us that she would sit at the top of our section and cry for us if we went too far from her. Sadly, she had a stroke when she was 10. I miss her so much. Would definitely get another bengal one day. Incredible cats.

8:35 - the section that starts here about the Bengal’s meow/chirp being quite piercing and something to know about ahead of time… 8:50 - camera pans to a husky sitting on the sofa 😂 I don’t actually know any huskies personally, but I’ve watched enough Girl With The Dogs videos/been on the internet in general to know they for sure also have a piercing voice! Either that lovely big floof of a Ragdoll has adapted to also have a loud voice to keep up with the team, or will be the quietest and softest member of the family by far 😸 (I’m still watching this video and absolutely loving Bao the Bengal, but I got to this bit and had to comment!)

Enjoyed this peek into the Bengal Cat! After always having had one cat and one dog raised together I have been sold on the two kitten option, however, when contemplating a super active, demanding breed like a Bengal or Siamese one option might be to pair your kitten with a slightly less active breed, particularly a Ragdoll, like Arya and Temo! In my recent experience with my Siamese kittens Austen and Jasper, it was quite an experience raising TWO active and curious kittens together. Had I found the Cat Butler, Arya and Temo before the boys came home, then perhaps we might have had a less fraught first year together!!! Their Dachshund baby sister, Hildy, engages with them often with games of chase and cuddling in her big fluffy bed, which the boys really like and naturally think is their bed which they let HER sleep in! So a dog pal is also a nice option. We indeed survived that first year, and we love Aussie and Jasper very much, and could never decide between them. So if I were to do it over again, I very well might have preferred the option of one Siamese paired with a Ragdoll, Siberian, Maine Coon, Persian…. Michael Albuquerque NM USA
@TheCatButler Жыл бұрын
Your pet family really sounds amazing every time you share! Do they all sleep together? They sound like the best of friends :D
@mjc63 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCatButler Thank you that is so nice to hear Cat Butler! Indeed they all spend a lot of time together and with me! Aussie is a Chocolate Point, the “leader” and a bit more independent in nature, while Jasper is a Seal Point, more demure and shy, and he is definitely my velcro cat. Their mothers are full sisters and A and J have the same dad. They are both very people oriented, smart and affectionate, as most well bred Siamese will be. Hildy still sleeps in her crate at night (which keeps her out of mischief!) and this allows the boys some time with me unimpeded by our show stealing and demanding little Dachshund! They are exceptional creatures and I think because the boys’ breeder puts so much into his animals up front, and since Hildy arrived just a month after Aussie and Jasper, they grew up with each other and that eliminated issues one sometimes experiences when introducing a puppy to grown cats. My Senior Siamese Matthew lived almost to his 22nd birthday after which I had an 11 year hiatus from pets. So it was over 30 years since I had a kitten, and that may have contributed to my somewhat overwhelming first year with my trio. Of course now we look forward to many years ahead, having survived the twin tornadoes aka “demolish” and “destroy”! I am 60 so likely no more additions. I still favor the idea of pairing an active breed like Siamese with a less intense one. Looking forward to holiday shopping with you! Hugs to Temo and Arya! Michael Albuquerque NM USA.

Dont mistake them for normal housecats. They might mostly be housecats but they are MUCH more demanding and active. If you're up to the challenge they're a great cat to have around, but if you easily get stressed they might not be a good match. I wouldn't have any issues with them acting out (I've got two Siberians who like to chase each other every night, and I sleep right through it all unless they literally jump on me. I got some really funny recordings of what they do while I sleep) but I rarely have enough energy to spend long hours playing. That's why I have two cats, so they can play with each other when I fail to exhaust them.

i'm so excited to see to see how much my snow mink girl is going to look like bao when she gets bigger, her half sister a brown, is already super affectionate after a few days. topaz(snow mink) is still shy, but lunatic(brown) has already decided we're her people... both are starting to trill, chirp, and talk to us and each other. we got them from a TICA breeder and checked out the home and mothers as with any breed whether dog or cat, there are risks of breeders who care more about profit over health.

@@TheCatButler we ended up going back for opaline the full sister/littermate of the brown, she's a snow lynx(the dad of all 3 is a brown, the mom of the brown and lynx is a lynx and topaz' mom is a mink). topaz at just over a year now, has ended up being unexpected, she's not the typical bengal like her two half sisters. she's a double agouti, so already far darker(blackened bronze) than a typical snow mink, and her body type is leopard cat as she's a throwback. she doesn't look like other bengals in her head or body shape, but like the leopard cat almost entirely except her ears. if you click on me you can see her and her sisters.

my experience with a bengal cat was not as enjoyable. my cat had problems with attacking mainly children and it got to the point where we had to give him away. he was rough but it was obvious how much he loved us, despite everything we went through with him. it took us months to finally get the courage to give him away. we loved him and he loved us, affectionate and so sweet when he wasn’t attacking. we came to the realization that he was too wild and decided to give him to a new owner who had other cats he could play with. i recommend getting another cat to play with your bengal.

My purebred female Bengal Nana is an angel. 10 years on and she’s still an angel… albeit a sometimes destructive and demanding one. Bengals are demanding and communicative. They love it when you are around and constantly want your attention to tell you about something. It’s easy to care for them and they’re smart enough to know when you need your own space, too. Nana is hyper active even at 10 years and she’s constantly on the go at a moments notice between naps in the sunshine. Our house was made for her and I believe she thinks she runs it. Also, you’ll notice that it doesn’t matter what you’re doing in the kitchen, they will want to smell and check everything and will give their approval and disapproval of every ingredient like the gourmet eaters they are. They are feline royalty in the animal kingdom. The best breed of cat I’ve ever had and the only one I will ever own again. I dread the day when she has to leave me…

I can't get mine to do any tricks though, however they both respond well and coming running when you call them. He loves tuna and salmon, her nope ..He is about 16lbs , she is about 8, however she runs the house!! She can put the whooping on him quick!! I love this breed and have owned many others. My family is looking to adopt a bengal kitten from a friend who is moving away soon, but I have a bit of a dilemma. My mother isn't very fond of cats and is expecting me to take care of it, but I will be at school for up to 9 hours a day. That would leave the cat alone with my mother at home, and during that time it would be kept in our backyard until I return. I'm worried that this may cause the cat to feel lonely and trapped, since my backyard is roughly 25m² (269 sq ft) in area. I'm thinking of taking it on walks every morning before I have to go to school, and interacting with it indoors when I get home, but I'm not sure it would make up for the time it would spend alone in our backyard. What possible solutions are there for me?
