Sometimes, the lack of money isn't the problem. Behavior and/or attitude toward money is. Just like Scope Creep in Project Management is a thing. So is Lifestyle Creep. I think this is a lesson she's trying to teach in her videos. Location makes a difference, too. I live about 60 miles NE of Atlanta in a 5 bd, 3 bth 2560 sq ft house, which I purchased in 2020 for under $300K, IR 2.25%. I would NOT leave to live in Baltimore for an extra $30K a year. It would be a pay CUT. However, I do understand how money, when one don't have it, can change one's life.

Rules for welfare are different in every state. Also, consider the cost of living where she lives and the fact that she has a dependent.
