For the life of me, I can't understand why there aren't more views. These are the best coming out stories. They are so relatable ... especially for those of us from a religious background. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Kyle, I don't know where you find so many well-spoken, functional people. This guy is totally functional, his parents sure did a good job on him. Lucky the guy who has Skyler for a partner.

Kyle, you are such a wonderful interviewer. I am not nor have been LDS, but your channel is fascinating. Obviously, these are LDS stories, but you make it universal in the human experience. Skyler is such a wonderful person and his story is inspiring. Thank you for producing such quality content! Even a 60ish, Gay cis-gendered Zen Buddhist can find and learn life lessons. I love your humor also.

"Exploring life." Isn't that what everyone needs permission to do , no matter if they know their sexuality or still trying to figure things out. Today's video was something I think is helpful to everyone whether it is someone looking for their pathway in life, a friend, a parent, relatives , or Church leader. Allowing a person to see what is right for themselves, while remaining in a spportive role ia the best thing you can do. Only they will be able to figure which pathway is right for them.

As far as I'm aware, the gay only attracted members are not allowed to date others of the same sex since there's no gay dating programs supported in the church. If gay dating was supported then the leaders would've added this into the dating program of the Church, but I've seen no such change to indicate that. How do you think I learnt like Peter to walk upon the waters to survive for over 28 years walking on the water while others have all been slowly sinking down into the stormy water instead of learning to walk on the water..

This is a portrait of a clearly beautiful human being with words to live by that go well beyond finessing a successful coming out. Attitudes like this could “bridge” divides of many kinds. A future partner will be one lucky man indeed.

A charming, dazzlingly articulate, warm, handsome man. At times the conversation was startlingly, maybe shockingly honest. A great depth of sincerity and purity was on display here. From my own (Jewish) tradition, I would say: "kol ha kavod!"- Hebrew for "all hono[u]r" (= all honour is your due). In other words - wow, so impressive, you have earned our deepest respect. And now ... maybe a Skyler update?

No mention was made of whether he was an only child or if he has siblings. If he does, I would have liked some discussion of his coming out to them and his current relationship with them. Very bright, compassionate, interesting guy.

Tree of Life in MTC/LTM. 1976 our dorm in the MTC had individual shower stalls without curtains. We were told it was too much privacy and you would masturbate if not out in the open. Not sure what all the other dorms were like. There were Trees of Life in the Richards building by the pools. The Sauna there was a cruising place. They didn’t allow swim suits in the sauna, you had to be naked. I was so in the closet and didn’t have a clear understanding about being gay. When my mission didn’t cure me, I stopped going to church while continuing at BYU. In those days they didn’t make you got to church. It took me until I retired to finally come out and resign from the church. Quite the mind fuck. I enjoy these podcasts.

Despite Skyler’s upbeat spirit, it is surely a sad account, in that he was forced to leave a church that had been so important to him - and remains so - in order to live a complete and fulfilling life as a gay man. His desire to build a bridge between the two solitudes of his community and his church is admirable. One can only hope he and others like him succeed - perhaps when a new and more tolerant generation - one that is truly reflective of Christ’s message - takes control of the LDS.

I find it really hard to believe that your mom didn't clue in. I think she was in denial. It will be interesting to see what happens when you bring home a boyfriend. That will be real.

I hate these broadcasts that end up attempting to address some important issue of the day, but then "invite you" to send "them" money. Indeed, in this instance, that's practically the first thing this guy says.

How much did it cost you to listen to this interview or the hundreds of other ones we have available? Nothing? I spend tens of thousands of dollars each year producing episodes like this for FREE. I don’t charge for my content. I’m so sorry you are inconvenienced by an attempt to offer a place for people to donate to our efforts if they choose to.
