Super rough case! I recommend following the older siblings on social media. They seem to be doing really well! Jordan is the most active but Jennifer just got engaged a few days ago and I believe is starting a career as a phlebotomist. Unfortunately they have mentioned a lot of the younger siblings were separated and still abused by foster families. I believe the oldest girls are trying their hardest to be there for them and get them out of those situations. There was also a bunch of money that was supposed to go to all the kids that they never received. The system really failed these children.

This case is horrifying, good for the sisters protecting their younger siblings. I did want to add that a lot of the siblings, specifically the ones in foster care, have been through additional abuse in the system unfortunately. Not all of the adult siblings have gotten the support they need to also thrive. The extended family is also pretty uninvolved in the healing process. The tragedy continues from what I've last heard, but again a lot is kept covered up to protect identities of the children. When my parents divorce went through, my SAHM got a job as a legal secretary, making barely over $14k raising 5 kids on her own (that "dad" didn't financially support anything other than his drug and Lady habit). I distinctly remember watching my mom go without food on a regular basis while we ate ours, if the toddlers didn't finish their plate, that's what and when she ate. She didn't drink the milk, eat the eggs or cereal or any of the other expensive foods that us kids ate. Things only remained this difficult for a few months, we started getting assistance and life gota lot easier. But when I think of what a true mother/parent would do, what sacrifice means as a parent, this is my example and I respect my mom for this. I was glad when she finally did get regular dinner dates with our new dad later on, she deserved it.
@kalpajha30026 ай бұрын
Hi, yes, you are so right. Aww, your mother seems like a lovely lady with a beautiful heart. Some people don't realise the strength of a mother and its heartbreaking for all the kids who don't ever get any love or affection from their mother. Instead, they suffer years of neglect, abuse mentally and physically. When you saw what your mother was going through, i guess you would have been only a child, and you still saw what your mother i guess didn't want you and your siblings to see. But im sure your love and respect for your mother would have grown tremendously. Im happy to hear things got better for all of you, and your mother found a good partner to help support her and her kids.

@@kalpajha3002 she is, she has her faults but I've always remembered what she sacrificed then. I wasn't an only child actually, the oldest of 5, the twins weren't even 2 yet. My step dad eventually adopted us and he's an awesome dad, works very hard. I appreciate both of them.

The kids werent getting to eat at disney... not the disney meals mom and dad ate. And the reason for the trips were to make it seem like they were a normal family to their families, and to the world. And, the reason the baby was healthy was bc, they couldnt starve the baby without her screaming her head off 24/7. So, they couldnt start starving each child til they got old enough to control.

I remember when this story first broke, so absolutely devastating. I've followed it quite closely since it happened. Sadly many of the kids experienced more trauma and abuse after rescue which is even more devastating. About homeschooling.... I'm a firm believer that it can be done well and kids can be very successful, I've seen it. However - I have neices and nephews that are "homeschooled". They do 2 hrs a day, only science, art and reading. No math, history, languages etc. They are YEARS behind where they should be. My 9th grade niece is at a 5-6th grade level. They are tested every year to see where they are at, but the test is done at home and their "teacher" helps make sure they pass. I worry so much about their future when they transition into adulthood. The Turpin kids give me a little bit of hope that they could be ok and might still be successful in life. The family has tried to step in but sadly nothing is done. We've also seen abuse (nothing nearly as serious as this, more mental and verbal - not physical), reported it and nothing is done there either. It's so sad and terrifying to be on the sidelines knowing there's nothing we can do.
@Jordys_Cursed_Camera Жыл бұрын
Jordan is so brave to be able to go get help. Especially because, unlike Jennifer, she had only ever known abuse. To have the strength and courage to get out is unbelievable. I pray all those children have been able to find some peace. I really believe Louise was the mastermind and the abuser. I believe their father was a push over but there's no excuse for what happened to those kids. The insurmountable amount of physical and emotional abuse is something I'll never understand how anyone could do that sh*t to anyone, especially children. I hope they get the same treatment they forced upon their children for the rest of their miserable lives in prison.

Shower 2 times a day every day is definitely not necessary. For me it depends on the weather. At hot summer days I may shower 2-3 times a day, because of sweating. And at winter I feel perfectly normal, when I shower full body only twice a week, and every day I only wash my feet, armpits and private areas. But no shower for a whole year - sounds so disgusting and unhygienic, can't imagine hair and skin condition. My hair need to be washed twice a week, otherwise it looks nasty. But I can assume, that when one stops washing their hair and skin, their body makes less oils, so maybe it is a little bit compensated in such a way. Anyway, so gross. Ans such horrifying neglect of the dependents

Thankfully, CO state law requires all homeschooled children to do yearly testing to make sure they are meeting at least the minimum learning requirements for their age. My mom made sure we were ahead of the requirements and most of the other families I did homeschooling with were also that way. I feel like a lotta times these terrible stories where they are homeschool families somehow end up making many people think that all homeschool parents as super terrible, irresponsible, abusive, strict, etc. that’s not the case though. It's worse now than it's ever been. There are more and more people becoming skeptical of the government (Conspiracy theorists) and more and more are untrusting of hospitals (more conspiracies) These people are opting to give birth at home with a midwife and youbdon't have to be licensed to be a midwife. You just need a certificate and you can get that with a few hours of classes... Families that give birth at home CAN and SHOULD apply for birth certificates but many families opt NOT to do this. This means they don't have official children in their care because they were never registered... it's really gross, but there are a few cases in the media where parents didn't care for their children but prosecution couldn't prove the children ever even existed...and kids who grew up sometimes find it difficult to get drivers licenses or state IDs because they never had a birth certificate or social security number and are now essentially slaves of their parents because they NEED them for support...it's really wild that this is able to happen

This truly is a devastating case. My heart breaks for the kids. How selfish and heartless their parents were. Already they had few kids and could not even look after them. No love, nourishment, protection or safety and selfishly they go on to have many more kids who then had to suffer because of their severe neglect towards them. From the photo of their 30th wedding anniversary, you can see the dad gave all the boys the same awful hairstyle as his. Smh. Its devastating that not only did they endure all that but, by being rescued they would have believed they are now safe. Only then to be abused all over again by the Foster parents. This should have been stopped a long time ago if just someone cared enough to do something about it. How are so many Foster parents cleared to take on this role who are clearly doing it for all the wrong reasons. What kind of people are these who know what the kids have been through and instead of supporting them through this trauma, they go and inflict further trauma on them. It is so sad how so so many kids are failed first by their parents and then secondly by the system. Just imagine how many kids across the world are suffering with no voice, no help and nobody to turn to. 💔

Thank- you for this story. I’m so glad those children have much happier futures. Horrible past. Behind them for their sake. Parent inside looking out. (Prison). I know this sounds hard harsh parent rot in prison. Damage they did to innocent children. Children have brighter future. Travel. Etc I live on the east coast of Australia. To be honest I haven’t heard of any reports in the media(television). Or on KZbin.

Sounds to me like the daughter was pulled out of school because the “mother” got nervous after the principal talked to her. People would be surprised to know how often that happens. Although I appreciate parents having the freedom and opportunity to be able to homeschool their kid(s) if they wish, it infuriates me how minimal the requirements for that truly is. MANY abusive parents take advantage of that option by just using it as an outlet to abuse their kids without detection. Also, homeschool and private school is different. Homeschooling is where the parent is fully responsible for the curriculum and education of their kids, a teaching license isn’t required because the parent is the teacher. They’re given full freedom to teach them whatever and however they want to. In my state, parents are only required to have a high school diploma to do this. Private school education is done through an actual institution with actual teachers, the requirements just differ based on the school; they’re not restricted to certain government teaching requirements because they’re privately funded.
