Running Dictation is a good way to get the students out of their seats and move around, especially if you find yourself teaching the last class of the day and the children are really tired.
This can revise vocabulary, grammar, word or sentence order, and practices listening and speaking. It's also really enjoyable for the students.
You can make this as easy or as difficult as you need to.

Students from: Lingnan Hang Yee Secondary School
Director: Angelina Komar (English for Asia)

I will write these sentences with wrong grammar or spelling mistakes, then students have to work with their pair/teammate to correct the sentences when they are finished with their ''dictation running''.

Hello, thanks for the videos. Tell us about the glass wall. What are they made of? Do you use them as white boards?
@englishforasia

Hi Valentina. These glass walls are a very economical trick to turn the whole wall into a white board. You simply paint the back of the glass (the side facing the wall) with white emulsion, and then the surface facing outwards acts as an excellent white board. In this room, the glass wall is a petition between two classrooms, with two sheets of glass siliconed together (with the painted sides facing each other).

Just post the text outside the door and the runners can reference the same one. They have to decide how many words at a time to 'carry' back in order to have a good mix of speed and accuracy

I like posting them around the class so nobody gets an advantage based on where they're sitting.

sorry i have question for you all, my question is the running dictation where is the part of running dictation ? strategi or method ?
@paolaxblando
@paolaxblando 7 ай бұрын
Do I divide a text into several sentences or a song, the runner must read the sentences, and then dictate them to the writer and finally form the text again in the correct order?

@@lambertettienanne5540 If you have larger classes, you can divide them into teams and choose 1 runner for each sentence. You also have larger classroom area to post the sentences around the room.
