I think your advice is really helpful. - Watching stand-up comedy not only releases feel-good chemicals but will also improve your sense of humor. - Watching a show or tv series with people you love makes it more enjoyable. - Studies have shown that cat owners have a 30% lower risk of dying of a heart attack compared to non-cat owners. - Having a conversation with a therapist is also a great idea. It's very helpful to have someone who really listens and who can give you practical advice on feeling better. In addition, another helpful trick is - Inhale deeply through the nose, fill the chest with air, and hold it for 10 seconds. Repeat it a few times until you feel comfortable again. It fills the body with oxygen and it forces the brain to focus on breathing and not on producing negative thoughts.

I thought I was the only person who absolutely loves washing dishes. I do find it so soothing and possibly symbolic of washing my troubles away. When you mentioned going for a drive it made me remember the summer I had mono. My dad would take me for a ride every night after dinner simply because the car had air conditioning. We'd talk, laugh and listen to my favorite radio station while driving through beautiful neighborhoods. It might sound wasteful, but it got me through a tough time and provided bonding time with my dad!

Much of the stress that people feel doesn't come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they've started

There are two types of stress: 1) getting pushed to your limits in a specific situation. Once it's over, you probably feel relief, maybe even satisfaction. 2) having too many problems and not knowing who to turn to. This type of stress will harm you.
