Webster, N.Y. (WHAM) - Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley was the main subject of public comment at the Webster Town Board meeting on Thursday.
People from across the area sounded off at the meeting and called for accountability and an investigation into how the police department handled the traffic stop.
"If it were anyone else, the police would have detained Doorley and given her a breathalyzer test because of her behavior and demeanor," said one speaker. "The officers didn't demonstrate that no one is above the law."

I found that statement remarkable too. He's tacitly admitting that justice isn't blind by even SAYING it was "a difficult situation." Most "difficult situations" end up with the driver tasting cement and some voltage running through their bodies. And sometimes with an extra assault charge for daring to react to said voltage. Disgusting.

@@DKK I totally agree with you. Read my comment that I posted today, Friday May 3rd. She needs to be charged, terminated and spend time in jail and not be given any special treatment by the courts as she failed on all accounts on this matter. Doorley needs to spend at minimum 5-8 years in jail just for this incident and be charged with every single violation that she committed. I’m counting around 14-18 violations of the laws that she needs to be charged with and be found guilty on all of them just by her actions and her words that she used. I feel sorry for the judge who gets this case. As that judge has to find her guilty on everyone of them just for what and how she did when she finally stopped for the cop after she pulled into her garage at home. I can’t believe the chief or the mayor haven’t demanded her termination and arrest as of today. That just shows the double standards and special treatment the cops and the judicial system is giving this CORRUPT, INCOMPETENT, DISGRACEFUL, IGNORANT DA , SANDRA DOORLEY and every citizen in that city must demand to the Mayor and Chief of Police that Sandra Doorley be arrested and charged with every violation and infraction that she violated and broke. And if they don’t then I’d be suggesting to every citizen to put up signs on their front lawns demanding the cops ARREST AND CHARGE SANDRA DOORLEY FOR EVERY LAW SHE BROKE AND VIOLATED THAT DAY

In spite of the fact his superiors basically told him not to charge her with anything ("it's your traffic stopped and I'm not going to tell you what to do" = I wouldn't write the ticket but I am not going to say that). Again, she is THE DA. You clearly are not understanding the amount of power a DA has. Why do you think all of the officers including the chief of police were treading so delicately? Law enforcement relies on the prosecution. Police *MUST* maintain a good relationship with the DA in order to be effective. If the DA doesn't like you, you could suddenly find prosecutors were dropping your cases. And, yeah, that does happen. A lot. Both with individual officers and with entire departments. And by this woman's behavior, we already know that she is more than willing to abuse her power, and it's perfectly reasonable to expect that she would absolutely be that petty.

She spewed entitlement: expected preferential treatment; put the police chief in an untenable position and made laughingstocks of the Monroe County NY DA’s office and Police Department. I cracked up when she was telling the officers (with a totally serious and straight face) that she would normally be the one prosecuting speeding and obstruction cases. The irony of her remark unbelievably escapes her. It’s obvious by the manner with which she whipped out her badge and shoved it in the officer’s face that she thought her own minor infractions didn’t warrant her attention and should be dropped. Her excuse for her actions? She’d had a long hard day. Well boo hoo! What she had was an illegal day…twenty miles over the speed limit, failing to stop for a police officer, using her position to get out of a ticket, impeding an officer’s investigation…damn the list of violations keeps growing. The poor cop who followed her home probably thought “I’m screwed” when he found out who she was;but she took the situation out of his hands with the demand the police chief be called. Did the chief fail; you bet your ass he did! He declined to arrest her and unfortunately she did not spend a night in jail as any regular Joe/Jane Citizen would. She also deserved being placed on administrative leave until the NY State Bar Association could decide on a proper course of action. Her insincere and ridiculous televised “apology” qualifies as a skit on Saturday Night Live! I think this was and still is a political hot potato. Can you imagine how many “oh shits” were uttered when the powers that be in the state government first heard of this incident. Why didn’t she just stop, take the ticket, shut up and deal with the bad press and even worse jokes for a couple of days? She is the epitome of “do as I say, not as I do”! SHEER ARROGANCE!

Two tiered system, favoritism, leniency, and a total lack of of respect for the laws that regular citizens have to obey. What a weak police department if they allow themselves to be bullied and subjective to this entitled DA. The Police Chief should have told her to pull over and comply with the officer as soon as she called him. If he would have said that to her, and she would have pulled over, this would not have been an issue. She lied, she tried to manipulate, she failed to comply by not pulling over, she failed to follow the officer's directions, and she and the Chief are failing to be honest with the public as they throw out misdirecting statements about how great the police did their job. Sorry, reality is, the police showed her favoritism because she called the chief and because she is part of their system. Exactly! That’s why she kept her distance from the officers n was So Determined to get that bag in her house n away from them searching it!…Even the officer asked her what’s in the bag n she said her lunch as she desperately tried to get it into the house while the officer kept Ordering Her to NoT Go Into The House Over N Over N Over Again! He should have Insisted on searching it then!…I think they knew n obviously let her slide with that too bc anyone else would have been arrested at that moment of her disobeying the police officer’s commands n going into the house anyway. No One Should Be Above The Law!

@@Fat12219 From the size of her pupils, I have to agree. She looked like she did a shot of heroin with those pupils.

True, why did she go into the house and was allowed to do so by the inept Police Officer?

Shame of that police department. They call it a difficult situation to deal with a rouge DA AS IF SHE had diplomatic immunity. Corruption 101 rules for thee but not for me

Wonder if it was an open bottle she took from the car and left in the house? Once a person has gone into their house, cops can't run a sobriety test, and she would know that law. And she was careful not to let the cop get close enough to smell her breath. . .

Huh, going into a house has nothing to do with being able to run a sobriety test. He saw her get out of driver's seat. Besides, there was no evidence that she was drinking.
