'14/'15 Chevrolet Silverado Updated Accelerator Pedal Swap - Does it work?

Updated the gas pedal on my 2015 Silverado with ACDelco part# 23362231. I dont have the adjustable pedals. I had read on the gm-trucks forum that there was an updated part that seemed to take out some of the lag when you step on the pedal. Some may think its a placebo effect, but I'm 95% happy now with how the truck responds to pedal input, accelerates, and shifts with no tune. If you're annoyed by your throttle response, its worth a shot if you currently have the old part # installed.
edit Got rid of my AFM and its now closer to 99% awesome*

I'm going through this exact same problem right now. My car went into shit mode after having vitesse mod installed for a year. The dealer asked me to remove the device, I told him hell no, replace the pedal thanks to your video. I haven't tested it yet, i'm still waiting in the shop.

Possible the vitesse might be crapping out too. When you get the truck back, if the pedal doesn't fix it, the vitesse is only in line between the pedal harness and you can easily unplug and go back and forth by climbing under the dash. I had the truck go into limp only once with the vitesse and I think its cause I was switching it around while driving too much. I believe I either unplugged the battery or cleared the computer with a scan tool and it ran fine again after. Good luck!

Hey great video i know this vid is old but i wanted to ask do you have to reprogram anything when done replacing? I have 2014 gmc sierra 1500 SLT 5.3 V8. Thanks ind advanced.

no it was plug and play. honestly the best bang for the buck was doing the trans portion of the handheld tuner to where the throttle response and shifts were better, still driving it on the same time for 55k or so miles

The throttle controller? Its a vitesse motorsports unit. I don't have it installed anymore as I use a hypertech tuner to ramp up the pedal response.

@@JoeRycoVideos The vitesse unit is a throttle controller like a pedal commander. Allows you to adjust how far the throttle opens vs the pedal position. I dont use the vitesse anymore as most handheld tuners like the diablosport and hypertech will do the same thing as the vitesse.

V6 or v8?

Got the 5.3 v8 but I'd bet the V6 and the 6.2 has the exact same pedal. The difference you'll feel is small versus using a tuner to change the shift behavior.

@@kailua808 I recently purchased the pedal commander for my 2015 v6 it was fine up until a p2138 code popped up

@@slickrula4562 I've seen pedal commanders cause codes to be thrown especially if you switch the settings while driving. I'd clear the code with an obd scanner and see if it stays away. The codes thrown will limp mode the truck I believe.

@@kailua808 Yes that's exactly what happened. Though I've had it now roughly 4 months with no issues and has worked really well until now. Do you suggest I change out the accelerator pedal and sensor?

@@slickrula4562 No the pedal is probably fine. you'll just need an obd scanner or take it to a shop to have them clear the code. autozone and those type of places might have scanners you can rent or borrow to clear the code.
