Wow, too bad I didn't know all this when I went for psychotherapy for several years with very little improvement. I keep finding parts that need to be healed and it's amazing how quickly it happens and the RELIEF it gives me. Thank you Dr. Schwartz for being a saviour for so many people who are now living meaningful, happy lives.

David Schwartz is a national treasure. His approaches are highly effective and represents a very healthy way to realign our minds to work for us rather than against.

Thank you so much Dr. Schwartz for your profound work and the deep healing you offer and teach. Thank you Niel for our courage to go through this with your audience to heal and let us heal too. Gratitude to you both.

Wow gentlemen! So much gratitude for you both!!! I am able to use this as a template to do this work on my own. It's getting easier the more I do it. I just keep coming back to the templates and learning something new each time. Kudos to you Dick for putting your work on KZbin without monetizing it, and to you Neil for being willing to let yourself be the test sample, and the the work you do with all these amazing healers in the public forum. I'm 60, I've suffered from CPTSD for most of my life, sometimes worse than others, and I've gotten a lot of help and healing from various therapies over the years, particularly from a talented therapist who does a variation of this work, so I had a leg up starting it. And YES I am able to do this for and with myself if I am willing to sit with it, and go slow and get consent, take breaks when I need them, and keep showing up for myself. THANK YOU!

Wow. This was so powerful. I am in the same boat, Neil. I have my kids 50% of the time, but we live 1600 miles apart. It has been such a struggle. It's nice to not feel alone.

That sounds super challenging Andrea. You're definitely not alone! Hoping that you find your way to some inner solidity to help you with the struggle.

"So frequently we're helping people access the Self, and then from that place become their own inner therapist."🔥 This is what meditation enables you to do. So you learn to watch (not stop) your thoughts without judging yourself--and the more you watch your thoughts, the more you see there are patterns to them. Then, you can use these patterns to categorize them, and so you intuitively come upon your own parts. True story.

Great example! My only question would be, was the part that they unburdened an exile or a protector? Because it doesn't seem like there was much effort needed to get through the first two protectors that came up 🤔 sometimes it can be confusing to me to distinguish one from the other. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this conversation. I for one had always had a knowing that we had one whole integrated part which then later gets disciminated into role plays... Not good or bad but the integrity of the whole gets compromised given the nature of role play given the situation and relationships we get to engage with. I'm assuming it's one of the many works of inner child healing and the integration through Shadow work...

This is great! When you say 'self' - is that the Self (the true self) and who is the little happy creative child within?
