Might be a good idea to separate the lines on the trans cooler. If they're touching you'll have heat transfer between them which reduces the effectiveness of the cooler.

I got a riddle for you, my 68rfe overheats in Drive in 1st and 2nd gear only cools down really fast once in 3rd. I added same trans cooler as you just did and with fan ON it makes no difference. If I'm waiting in a long line at the dump and keep it in gear in 10min it'll be at 250 degrees even with fan on.... Other wise transmission runs great. What is it.....?

@@horsetorquesdiesel Converter supposed to be locked while standing in gear? I guess I'll do some research on how converters work... Thanks for taking the time to reply. I had a trans repair shop say it's most likely 1st and 2nd gears slipping but I'll do some research from what you said and some testing. Trans was rebuilt 50k ago by a shop that went out of business. Does PDD build 68rfes? To support 600whp and towing?

@@ProjectNotSoSlow I have very rarely seen under drives fail usually it’s over drives that go first. We do not build 68s but Randy’s does in Utah, Redhorse or Coffman customs does in Texas, Suncoast does in Florida, Muldoons does in the NE

I can’t believe the people that post videos of Miss information and try to teach people the wrong way o hot retorques, I come here to watch josh because in my opinion, he does everything right in my book, and the things he doesn’t know he’s not afraid to admit it. But secretly you see him practice and get better at all aspects. So moral of the story come watch horse torque diesel for the correct way to do this shit. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else, we’ll fire punk and power driven diesel which josh came from, to much Mia information out there and if you don’t think your Cummins needs a hot retorque then your in denial. Especially with fire rings. Don’t be an idiot. Do the hot retorque.

Off the wall question but with a 150* 7x10 VP injector paired with a 6.7 piston what would a good starting point for timing be? Tried from 17-26* and can’t find its happy spot just wants to sputter after 1000-1200rpm
