It’s about 150,000 total men, women, and children and around 50,000 children homeless in just NYC, not the whole state that are homeless. And I’m sure a lot are uncounted for because they go in and out of homes sleeping on couches, or just move around the country and always come back to their hometown NYC in warmer weather. I’m sure the count is mostly based on people who go to shelters or talk to these census people/register homeless. Some people are literally just off the grid and not connected to anyone which makes me believe it’s higher. And now after COVID the count is going to skyrocket, since these numbers are from 2019. They may use a relatives house for their mail/proof of residence, yet sleep on the street also. Anyway, this is still a HUGE number and ridiculous how many kids can’t get public housing. I get older ones and even younger kids hate the foster care system and may rather be on the street just like elders hate the shelters. It’s a bad situation all around. The UK has a pretty good system for homeless teens and adults. Even under 18 you can still get a nice mini apartment and help finding a job and resources. Same for adults and families get a lot of help. This is just from my personal experience researching and what I’ve seen in the media so who knows if I’m making it out to be better. But on any given night in the US around 555,000 are experiencing homelessness on any given night, which is like 18 out of every 10,000 people. That means pretty much 1/5 of the homeless are in NYC, that’s crazy!! It’s unbelievable for what is supposed to be a 1st world power/rich country that is supposed to have MANY resources for homelessness and all the things that come with it (addiction, abuse, separation of family members, help getting a job and permanent public housing, food stamps and welfare money to get themselves started, serious mental health issues that need to be dealt with or the cycle repeats, physical disabilities needing accommodation, rise in criminal activity because of no money, suicide, etc.) and the fact that a good amount are VETERANS is fucking despicable. They deserve soo much help when they reach bottom. Everyone does. It lowers people going to jail, makes society as a whole happier and more efficient, eventually costing taxpayer’s less money.
@HolyDrugLord3 жыл бұрын
When they say “homeless children”, do they mean, literal homeless children? Like children sleeping in cardboard boxes on the sidewalk or under a bridge? Cuz I have never seen a homeless child in my life, and I live in LA, the homeless capital of the world Or do they mean “homeless children” as in orphans or kids that are in foster care or being taken care of by the state? WHAT DO THEY MEAN BY HOMELESS CHILDREN?!?!

How old are you man? To be honest getting laid has little to do with your looks, but being good looking doesn't hurt by anymeans. Girls love a guy who is funny, if you can make a chick laugh, your in. I didn't start getting laid until my late 20s. I'm like you, insecure, nervous, anxious all that good stuff and I'm actually a good looking guy. My secret weapon honestly was the right amount of alcohol to knock my nervousness out but not to the point where I was clearly drunk. I started getting laid and gaining confidence that can only come from getting cooch. Best of luck but basically quit caring if you get turned down or look stupid, chicks will have mad respect for you for even having the balls to approach them.

Hey, just a warning; don’t get carried away with all that, cuz at 18 I thought I had a genius epiphany: “life is short, don’t waste time not being happy, do things that make u happy and feel good cuz life is too short to spend any of it unhappy or not feeling good” Well...... I smoke meth now and I can’t stop cuz I’ve smoked so much of it that I am chemically dependent on it I had thought “I enjoy being high, it makes me feel good”, and in order to keep feeling good u have to do more and more and more I am 27 now, and at 18 years old I was smoking weed, the dominoes can start falling down pretty quickly without even realizing it, so like I said “don’t get carried away with all that” Cuz I honestly wish I hadn’t even used drugs now, like u I was using them to cope, but now thinking back, I didn’t even actually have shit that needed coping cuz I was stronger than everything that was going on, I’m pretty sure u are stronger than everything going on too

@@HolyDrugLord Hey, good luck to you man, hope you're gonna get the help you need. Addiction fucking sucks, I'm only at booze and weed now , can't even imagine how hard it must be to kick a meth habit.
@cascadeblue72683 жыл бұрын
@@HolyDrugLord I've smoked that shit once and vowed never to do it again because I realized how good it was. I feel for you man, I'm an alcoholic so it's not like I'm doing great. Having an addictive personality is a curse, I think maybe if we find something other than drugs to fill our addiction we could come back? Have to find a hobby or something, I dunno but best of luck to everyone as we deal with this "Living Hell" as the great Tim Dillon would say
