I want to cry. Im really struggling tonight and was feeling anxious about what yoga to do in bed and then bam. I saw this pop up. Thanks, Aprille. 💜 I know you've had a lot on your shoulders and so i hope you're finding the reprieve and rest you need and so deserve. 💜

Thank you Aprille that was a great practice. I've been doing a yoga with Tim back pain practice every night for a couple of months now. He's had disc issues and he's my go to when I'm having a major flair up because of the poses he chooses and he's exceptional at little tweaks that make a big difference for me. I've been introducing other poses and expanding my practice gradually so it was really great to do a new practice and concentrate on my hips for a change but I don't think figure 4 is a pose that works for me. Pigeon no problem, body loves it but for some reason it doesn't like doing the same pose supine. Yet most people prefer figure 4. This is based on my experience in yoga classes, most would grumble if the teacher asked if there was a pose that we'd like to do and I would suggest pigeon, lol. Thanks again my lovely, I hope you are well and really appreciate you taking the time to post a practice. Love and light 🙏🏼🧘🏼♀️💜

Kirsty, not every pose will work for every person which is why it is so lovely that there are many variations for each pose. There is indeed pigeon, side pigeon, seated pigeon, standing pigeon, and supine pigeon to choose from and I always say, try them all to see what you need today. Somedays figure 4 is my friend and some days pigeon is my friend - bodies change so quickly that I find myself really taking the first few minutes of a practice to check in, review how I am feeling physically/mentally/emotionally/energetically and working from there. In this practice, you can always spend time in a supine cowface pose instead which can get deep into the hips and low back as well : ) Have a great week!
