These look lovely, and the no-cook aspect of the last one is very practical! One of the things I remember about being a student was that it wasn't always easy to get access to fresh ingredients. I was flatting, rather than in a hall, so did at least have an oven and pre-space etc. However, it would be so neat to see your take on nourishing & delicious meals made from shelf-stable things or some recipes that might support eating well when you don't have access to supermarkets and markets, etc (e.g. food deserts). I know there are definitely recipes you've made that fit the bill, but a themed collection could be helpful :)

Hi Sadia, thanks for all the super nice recipes you offer us! :D I wanted to ask you your opinion on frozen goods, especially vegetables in terms of nutritional value: since they are more readily accessible and cheaper to many people, is that a good alternative or is fresh a necessity?
@PickUpLimes2 жыл бұрын
Hey Marine, fresh is definitely not a necessity. Frozen fruits and veggies are great, and are often as nutritious as their fresh counterparts. Use them as you'd like 😊

In italy those ingredients cost way more! Avocado 2€ /each, coconut yogurt 4€, tofu 3-4€.. also the spices and the sauces cost way way more.. vegan mayo is 5€.. and the vegetables too, i calculated about 10-12€/2 servings. hoping prices will be lower in future, but i am happy for you you spend so little! I would love a video featuring recipes with perishable ingredients in common across each recipe. So that one can optimise their grocery shopping and get multiple recipes out of one batch of ingredients. I find that things often go out of date before I can use them as I'm not sure what else to use it for. Maybe this is a personal problem, nonetheless, I think that would be an interesting video!

I mean every thing loks delicious but even in Poland where prices are cheap, there is no way to buy a coconut yogurt for like 1EUR or coconut milk for 2 EUR? Its at least 3-4...,so eah being vegan is not cheap sometimes not cheap, also if you do not have 4 ppl to make servings and you already opened all the cans, and what you have to waste or count in the head what to cook next?... Otherwise amazing stuff, I'll try the beans
@annabeinglazy55802 жыл бұрын
Sth to consider in the Future, can you maybe add the actual prices of the items? Seeing the tofu for 1€, im assuming you mean 1€ based on the amount that you use in the recipe, but the price for the total product might be important for people. Another example would be the vegan Mayonnaise and coconut yoghurt. Both can be very expensive in total, and Not everyone can buy that stuff in Bulk. I need to Go for smaller product sizes because, If i bought vegan yoghurt in the "cheaper" big size versions, half of it would Go Bad in the fridge. I would appreciate that Type of transparency, even If it makes the product Look less cheap

As much as I love you videos this has a bit of false advertising. For example you list spinach for 6 cents. But if you go to albertheijn you cant just buy 6 cents of spinach. You need to buy the entire bag of spinach or cabbage etc. That definitely changes the price and doesnt always make the recipe budget friendly. Also a bit wastefull... People who are on a budget buy a kilo of potatoes and try to make it work for a week long for like 5 different recipes.

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think it’s right to calculate the cost based on serving size. That’s not how you buy ingredients. If you were to buy all of these ingredients to make these meals it would be near $100. I just find it misleading
