Class...this post points up one of the topics I've been thinking about quite a bit lately. Not directly. The importance, influence and power manifest in words one uses to describe one's experience defines one's reality. Words can illuminate or obfuscate depending upon the words one uses to negotiate the playing field and rules agreed upon to compete, cooperate or opt out...or be excluded from the game altogether. This one word can either exclude or include others in the game....depending on whether or not one understands the rules of engagement. For instance: the idea represented by the word "class" is completely different for the socialist (and/or communist) than it is for a student of education. The one is a weapon in arsenal of entitled power grabbers with nothing of value to offer in the market of socio-economic influence yet who seek for a short cut for power over many others....the other is more a generic term of inclusion and an indicator of educational prowess or attainment. Then again, there's the completely unrelated idea of "class" as a descriptor of social grace and personal equanimity. One word many "meanings" depending upon context and the critical ability to recognize the context and to extrapolate the playing field and at least a basic grasp of he rules of engagement. And thats one very simple example of the subtle yet pervasive influence and impact of language. In fact, it's been discovered that the language one speaks determines or directly influences the personality/character of the speaker. Personality inventory tests have revealed that when a person speaks more than one language, their actual personality changes depending upon which language he/she is speaking at the time. The significance if this single seemingly innocuous element of human interaction is seldom recognized by the average npc(non-player chsracter) but well recognized by the power grabbers who seek to control the words you speak. Why does the "left " always focus on individual words and the redefining of these words? They weaponize the words we speak to control the behavior of those listening. For instance, I believe I read that the new Cambridge collage dictionary has redefined the simple word "woman" in such a way as to define woman out of existence. Why? The left wants to render the masses impotent and ignorant by controlling the very words you have to define and navigate the your reality. Never stop learning. Why were slaves forbidden to learn to read upon pains of certain and public death a lesson to all others who might secretly harbor the desire to learn . Think about that first a while, Aluxers. Pay attention. Grow beyond subtle coercive manipulation and enslavement by the words/ideas you are permitted to use.

This Masterworks thing is TRASH!!! I took ALUX advice because I am a true Aluxer and this interview with Griffin, Morgan from Masterworks seems like a huge MONEY GRAB! No other investment needs to know all your information to "approve you". They are vetting clients and calling it something else. I now do not hold the same respect I had for Alux and your reputation is now tarnished in my eyes.

You can have class and still be poor. Being articulate, having proper grammar, good manners, being considerate of others, not dressing like a slob, reading books, taking showers, and brushing your teeth don’t cost a lot of money. Don’t spread gossip and talk bad about people behind their back. Be appreciative. Say please and thank you. Have good posture. Look people in the eye when you talk. Keep your hands to yourself. If you’re a man, be ready to give up your seat to a woman or the elderly. These are things everybody should know.

True class does not require money. True class is about having a certain demeanor and grace that demands respect. High class people go a bit beyond what was stated. While always gracious, they are authentic. They have learned to convey feelings, insights and emotions appropriate to situations without being fake rather than suppressing emotions into oblivion. Truly high class people have the strength and courage to stand up for their beliefs while they maintain an effective charm which puts people at ease. They are not afraid to come to the defense of deserving less powerful people, animals, environments in need. Our world needs many more of these truly authentic human beings.

I had an officemate who was haughty, condescending, and tactless when she talks and deals with us. She tells people that she was actually from a wealthy family back east and the reason why she moved to the west coast is because she hated how her family squabble over money and property. Most of us just laughed it off. We know that the first thing a person from a wealthy background would never say is that they are rich and high-class. Lol

CLASS, I am pleased that you made the distinction separating the term from just having money. I know that I was raised with class even though we were not rich. It's very important to clarify and point out the difference that class does not mean one has money or is rich or wealthy. It focuses on the quality and caliber of one's personality, conduct and decorum. Great job!

The moment you start to see art only for its monetary investment value (as implied here in the video) than for its beauty and idealistic value, cause you truly love art then you've failed already. Behind every piece of art stands someone who spent their time, sweat and all their passion into creating it. I cannot recall how many dinners I've skipped, how many nights i went to bed way too late, cause i was on a roll and wanted to conplete a painting, use the passion and inspiration whileit was there. There's more going into a paintings than just a canvas and paint. That awareness and appreciation of the process is real wealth.

Class! I value, and I’m impressed by people who are highly educated and well-versed in many subjects. I don’t mean Ivy League education or highly regarded historically black colleges. I’m talking about people who read books, lots of them. My father had to go into the service when he was a young man, and only got a GED to complete his education. But he was always reading books of all types, and would talk to me about what he read when I was growing up. I thought he was the smartest man on the planet.

A pretty good video . Read the book of etiquette, listen well, have emotional intelligence ( know what not to say and when to say the proper complimentary things) and abide by the 10 Commandments ( whether religious or not) and you’ve attained class! My mom was a waitress my dad owned a diner, they both had class and passed that down to their children. You do not need or should you ever go to boarding schools or invest in art ( unless you love a painting for yourself foyer or dinning room which would add to your decor). Be kind and gentle, well read, generous and selfless . You are now an individual of class.

Wealth should never be a "personally defining charcteristic", once it is, there's no high class involved. And as for the expensive schools, they don't teach you class. They teach you, what a life with money looks like. Not your money, your parents money. As for the academic record, they don't score higher than any normal school. There's a beautiful saying: Arrogance always comes before the downfall. What you are at the core of your personality is determined by your genetic inheritance, your upbringing in early childhood and the classy ( or not so classy) behavior of your care-givers. They set the example which influences you the most. Not by talking, but by their existance, their actions and by the outcome of their endeavours.

All attributes of being classy as repeatedly mentioned here in the comments deal mainly with how do " ppl with class" set them apart from others starting from their choice of clothing to their scents and their demeanor n attitude. But I guess it all doesn't just end here. These are mere signs of someone who is raised well and self aware and understands the power and control tactics over the others. It's their behavior, composure and how they present themselves or defend themselves during a disagreement, a clash of ideas or interests... and also how they take their commitments and uphold integrity in their relationships this is when I personally place ppl if they are actually and really high class or clowns trying to act out to make an impression only.

Class... is something, anyone can have (although it - of course - helps to already have it as a part of your upbringing). It depends on the weight of your word. And this mainly means: Competence and reliability. Stand by your word (for you will be measured by it) and know, what you're talking about. Never fake. Never pretend. And never make promises that you can't or won't keep. And these are standards that you find in working class as well as in nobility. But not amongst opportunists and wannabes. And that's also the reason, why someone, who is "high class" will always respect an honest worker more than someone, who made a fortune (no matter how big) out of cheating and fooling others.

Going to boarding school is a common middle class assumption that all rich people / blue bloods send their children to. However, this is a misconception. You send your kids to boarding school if you don’t want to deal with them and they come out hard people. With the rare exception, of course. Also, a ton of them get into drugs, but have the resources to go to rehab and live a normal life.

I didn't bother watching this video. Here's a list of 15 things you should do/know if you want to fit in with wealthy people for real: 1. Appearance/Clothing: Don't wear labels on the outside of your clothes. Spend your clothes budget on clothes, shoes etc. that you like And feel comfortable wearing - brand and content come second to these. Mix real and costume jewellery. Real for sentiment and costume for style and/or fun. Walking in heels is Toe first. Not heel/toe like in flat shoes. Heels are just enough for you to rest upon when not in motion. When wearing heels, take shorter steps. Keep your arms relaxed and swinging - not tensed up and close to your chest. When dressing, wear clothes that fit you, or have been tailored to fit your figure. Only reveal one physical asset at a time. (The younger you are, the less this will make sense to you. And if u be young - go ahead and do whatever helps you enjoy your life, while you still have a valid excuse). 2. Make up: Only put mascara on your top lashes. Keep make up to a swish of blush and a dab of lip gloss. Avoid foundations unless you are to be photographed or appear on TV. Wipe any excess oils from the center of your face in the powder rooms. Brush your tongue with a separate toothbrush from back to front and use mouthwash. Use roll on deodorant. Reapply if needed. Moisturise everything you like and want to last. Spray real perfume and spray only once - spray into the air before you, then walk into it. Avoid direct sunlight. 3. Always speak softly and in a calm manner. If you are interrupted, let that topic go. Always de escalate any situation - this puts control in your hands. Learn to play chess successfully. (If you feel anxious, mindfulness techniques are effective as they get you out of your head and into the real and enjoyable moment). 4. If you are not using your mouth, close it. If you are not currently in motion, fold your hands in your lap and cross your feet at the ankles. If standing, stand with your feet just slightly wider than your hips, and place one hand loosely in the other in front of you. Keep your neck upright, but your head sitting relaxed. Drop your shoulders and tilt them very slightly back, opening your chest. (Posture, comfortably correct, will shed those 5 pounds you are always on about). 5.Don't worry about using the right piece of cutlery. Think of it more in practical terms, and with a sense of humour. If you are corrected, just go with the correction. The important part is to eat And drink Slowly, while keeping All sound effects to a minimum. Put the napkin on your lap. Not tucked into Anywhere. Keep your elbows off the table. If you are confused, ask the waiter - it is their job to be both helpful and discreet. If you get nervous and drink too much, too soon and you feel drunkeness coming on at an inappropriate time, request a glass of lemon juice made from half a real lemon. This is the antidote to alcohol. And then Stop Drinking - the alcohol is still inside your system, you just Feel sober. 6. When a guest, please, just go along with whatever your host proposes, (unless its an actual crime - and then only if you understand the relative time). 7. Finance: Build a portfolio of assets. Not for spending. For building into bigger and more workable assets. Don't just live within your means. Live on a percentage of your income only, while saving 1/5th for big unexpected expenses, and investing 1/5th in your portfolio. Whilst living within your means, buy the best you can afford, where it shows; and good enough for the rest. Never a borrower nor a lender be. Unless you have a 50-70% deposit and can slap down the principal without attracting too much interest ;) 8. Never brag, never put yourself or others down. Upon receiving a compliment OR criticism, thank the giver and move on. When you backstab, you immediately lose the trust of everyone who can hear you. Gossip is actually a valuable social bonding tool - just don't be cruel or mean when passing info on. I'm not saying you can't giggle at another's expense. I am just saying: "avoid being a cunt". 9. Get a Life. Get a hobby or deep dive into Any fun interest. The wealthy attend parties the way others eat hot meals. If you have little to talk about, your next invite may get lost in the complex modern systems. Unless... You are a GREAT listener, who can draw people out for hours. In which case you are Always a welcome guest. 10. Never use a social gathering as an opportunity to practise your elevator pitch. After all, people do favours for their Friends. If you are poor at making friends, its easy - Be polite. Be nice. Show interest in what interests them. Remember the person's name and relevant details. Listen and hear (not the same things). Remember what they drink/like. Offer an activity you could do enjoyably together. 11. Keep up with current global news and trends in pop culture. 12. Don't ask - wait until you are offered. 13. Never discuss the cost of things - its tacky and awful. 14. When a guest, bring a gift - usually a bottle of something alcoholic, flowers or an interesting dessert. 15. Attitude: Whatever I choose is cool. Whatever I do or say is fine (as long as I practise good manners and etiquette). Whatever I think, I am at peace with it. I am unique, special and worthwhile. I am kind and compassionate to the less fortunate (ie. Everybody). I never suck up to others. I am chill about Everything. I would rather laugh than get mad or upset. Voila - now at least you won't embarrass yourself.

Classy. People always said I have it, and I didn't know why my 'normal' was different This video explains it perfectly. A little black book takes years to cultivate, and handed down to your children. When you move countries it is harder, but still achievable. Thank you as always for your entertaining and informative content😊

Class! Thank you Alux for your services to aid in propelling the driven forward. I particularly enjoyed the topic of EQ (emotional control) as this has been an area of personal growth that I have endeavored to master. The amount of rage I have experience(d) is but a tool to drive me for better. To remain, collect and seek understanding, even in times of emotional instability is a quality that tremendously improves my relationships with others. Stay strong everyone, we got this.

I don't know about rich people, but in my experience people with 'class' are always well read. You know Proust, Shakespeare, Thomas Mann, Voltaire, etc. Also they are well versed in Philosophy. At least the big three Greeks, Spinoza, Bacon, Hume, Kant, Nietzsche, Heidegger, etc.

Emotional control for upper class is clique! It’s not that they are in control of their emotions! They just don’t have to worry about the basics of survival, therefore can become hospitable or generous which gives them a sense of peace…. It’s circumstance, that gives them the feeling of being in control, and they can help if they want to, but it’s best they do otherwise animosity builds slowly and brews envious feeling of the unfortunate

There were quite a few of those actors as well as the two female entertainers that you featured in the clip all had the typical looks of the low borns..., it's all in the eyes by the way..., which is extremely difficult either to imitate or try to train yourself to have it.

I would argue that many poor people, unable to buy fancy things, but who are honest and compassionate have a lot of class - while very many rich people have no class at all. By definition, sociopaths/psychopaths have no class. Class is the one thing they can't steal or buy.

"People with money don't come after someone else's money " In which universe is this true? As far as I can remember for example during the financial crisis of 2008, the "people with money" made out like bandits at the expense of the middle class; the bankers even went so far as to forge documentation to foreclose on properties that they did not even own the mortgage to!

To add to that last part, yes snobs do gate keep info and make it known that they have secrets you only wish you knew but classy people CAN do the same if they suspect someone is only talking to them to get the juice (take advantage), Ive seen it happen first hand...Someone pops into their lives, builds trust, gives them the secret sauce and they go on to say they created the secret sauce. Be careful whom you let into your life.
