Try planning ahead when you know there will probably be leftovers. Set aside some of the ground beef to use the next night in something different instead of putting it all in spaghetti sauce. If you hold some of the protein out instead of putting it all in a sauce or a casserole, it can be used in a totally different way the next night.

So we are a family that does the "once a month shopping" thing. I'll load up on fresh stuff and frozen/canned stuff. Basically, fresh stuff gets eaten first. If anything is starting to go, then it gets frozen or used in soups or whatever. Then when we are all out of the fresh stuff, we use whatever is hanging out in the freezer until grocery day again! Depending on the time of year, fresh lasts longer so we will apples and stuff all month long. In the winter, its a lot more of living out of the freezer/pantry (at least that's how it goes up here in northern Alberta).

I only shop once a month at 1 store(otherwise youre paying for the multiple trips via gas. Which can get SUPER price if your not careful!😬). To preserve the fresh veggies and whatnot for the whole month, I pre-prep them for the month when i get home, pre-cook my meals, and then freeze them! We even have some single meal tupperware i got off amazon in bulk that is reusable and has helped us save LOADS of money because we hardly have any food waste anymore!😊We only have things like salad and whatnot during the first 2 weeks, and the 2nd 2 weeks of the month we use frozen veggies and whatnot. 😊 Everything stays fresh, nutrients are all there, and it saves LOADS of time!
