Here's an extra tip: use Stickies to take notes from KZbin videos! Works best in Firefox because Firefox won't move to its own exclusive desktop when you full-screen it.

I finally made the leap back with an M1 MacBook Air. The Printer on desktop is a great tip, but it is a bit easier to just type command + P with the file selected and the same thing will happen with no dragging and no printer on the desktop. Great tips! usually I avoid these videos because most of them are "the Mac has a control center" or "look... widgets." This tip video is THE BEST tip video I have ever watched for Mac OS and I definitely implemented several of the tips right after I picked my jaw back up off the floor!

Instead of right clicking the video twice to play it in PIP mode you can just right the little "This tab is playing audio" icon either in the tab or in the address bar and choose "Play in Picture in Picture Mode" This even works on websites where you can't do the double right click menu trick like Netflix and Twitch

Might already be known: The PiP feature in Safari for KZbin is awesome, it "snaps" to the four corners for the screen when you move it around, but if you hold CMD while moving it will stay wherever you put it! Just tried it while watching your video, so cool! I said "No Way!" many times throughout this video lol. Thanks Quinn!

I like the shortcut for opening system preferences in a list. Right click on system preferences and hold. You get an alphabetical list above the icon. Much easier than remembering which row an action is in.

One thing that I like to do with the command removing the dock animation is to type 0.25 instead of 0. It still looks nice while being super quick 👍

Thank you for your videos! You're such a great resource for me in my switch to wonderful M1 hardware with an unexpectedly difficult OS to learn! By the way, I think this video could also be appropriately entitled 150+ reasons why it's needlessly difficult to become a power user in macOS. Or ~100 keyboard shortcuts you'll probably never remember because ...was that shift+cmd+Ctrl or was that cmd+option or was it fn+shift+cmd+Ctrl??????? Or 150+ reasons Apple was smoking crack while designing macOS keyboard shortcuts and other reasons you need expensive 3rd party apps to make your OS work in a logical and simpler way. By the way, my wife, a loving and loyal Mac user, said "you're right" for the first time ever when I complained today about macOS keyboard shortcuts being so illogical. There is that for me to be appreciative about. Hopefully this made you smile.

20:00 and you can add Ctrl to the Screenshots Shortcuts (e.g. Cmd+Shift+Ctrl+4) and the screenshot go to the clipboard instead of creating an image. Very convenient if you just want to show something in a conversation.

For the dock, if you want it to appear be quick but still have the animation I recommend: defaults write com.apple.dock autohide-time-modifier -float 0.15;killall Dock This will open the dock 6.6 times faster. Basically you can set it to anything between 0 (no animation) to 1

Option+space to open full screen quick look, you can press cmd+down arrow to open. Also, hold down option then hover over the green button on a window to dock it to one side without activating the split screen full screen mode.

In regards to the screen sharing, you can open Screen Sharing from Spotlight and put any person’s Apple ID. I do a lot of tech support, and as long as they have an Apple ID, I can request access without the other person installing anything. They simply click Accept in the top right, and we’re connected including VOIP. My favorite feature hands down!

Love the command to put the dock to the side. I can’t stand the dock being at the bottom (and even worse if it is set to not auto-hide). Turning off the animation is definitely something I have to set up for me, as well. Thank you for the great advice!
