I agree with you about the grocery ordering. I recently started doing this and it saves me time, stops me from impulse buying, makes it SO much easier to stick to my budget, and my kids can't grab stuff to ask for! It's so much less stressful shopping this way.

Yes it has been such a helpful shift for me as well. Once a month I look at what I already have in the fridge, freezer, pantry- write it all down and see what meals are obvious to build from that. Then I use the grocery ordering app to order bulk from Costco and have all meals planned for an entire month. We eat the same breakfasts on whatever weekday so the same breakfast every Monday, a different than Monday but same every week for breakfast on Tuesday etc (this minimizes thinking, still gets variety, saves money.) There are a few things I can’t get at Costco like unsweetened soy milk and whole cabbage so I do my best to go to the store one time a month to stock up on these items.

Hi Jennifer. Appreciate your videos and the work that you put in. Just one thing I have to say about abandoning carts when shopping online: PLEASE don't do this to a small business! We get notifications from our online platform to check what we did wrong/offer a coupon/give a deal/have a loyalty card...if anyone wants to "play" at shopping, please don't hurt small businesses just trying to survive in this difficult economic time. Thanks for letting me put in my 2 cents...

Thanks Jennifer...you are the best! This situation happened recently to me when a friend wanted to "up" my algorithm by "shopping" , but then by abandoning the cart it just led to headaches. Thanks for understanding. Hugs from Canada.@@THEJENNIFERCOOK

The best mortgage tip ever: make mortgage portion payments weekly or biweekly (depending on how often you get paid). You will save a huge amount $$ in interest! Some sly mortgage agreements don't allow 'pre-payment', so check first. 🏡💰

We actually pay for Walmart delivery and it saves us several hours a month in time as well as eliminates mileage on the car. We also get Paramount+ for free as part of Walmart plus. Having Walmart plus saves us so much money because we only order what we need and almost never have to make a trip to the store.

Watch the expiration dates at the grocery store, especially if you order online for pickup. If you're in the store, you can decide if you want to buy soon-to-expire items, but when you leave it up to the personal shopper to select for you, they may not pick the freshest item. Sometimes it is not even on sale, but placed at the front. Stores stock items using FIFO (first in, first out), rotating the freshest goods from the back to the front. Check those dates!

If you have a credit card, check if the issuer does extra offers that you can add to your card for % statement credit or extra rewards for purchases at certain vendors. Don't buy anything you weren't already going to, but if you have a specific purchase in mind or it's for a vendor you know you will shop at it's a nice perk.

Anna, not always, and it is well known that sometimes the same products are used on some store brands where all that changes are the labels.

I LOVE store brands! I always buy Walmart’s “Equate” brand items on the things I need as well as Target’s “Up and Up” brand. I often can get the items I use for 25-50% less than the name brands. For me they work just as well and save me a lot of money. Costco’s “Kirkland Signature” and Sam’s Club “Members Mark” are two other great store brands. I’ve read some articles occasionally that they’ve surveyed people who have bought both name and store brand to compare and many times they liked the store brand just as well or better than the name brand. And Jennifer is right….. both items are often made in the same factory at the same time. On one they put the name brand and on the other they put the store brand labels! Good luck with shopping and saving money!😊
