Thanks for sharing that cultural festival. Wish I could be there. Also, as for the pomegranates, I wonder if the heavy rains may have made the fruit swell and the skin couldn't keep up so it burst. Sometimes happens with tomatoes and other fruit.

I guess the pomegranates are ripe and ready to spread their seed so you need to pick them before they split open

The ones that haven't broken open are not ripe. When they first split the seeds are white inside. After several days open to the air, they turn red.
