Hi! Nura here. Thanks so much for this Toby, this was really nice to see. I know it hasn’t been long since we did this call but just rewatching it now makes me feel really good. Little update: I finished exams and am in the middle of a crash because of the mental exertion. But it’s ok! I found out that even though I had rest breaks, I think I need extra time for some of my exams, so I’m getting that sorted out before my actual big exams. I also didn’t get student Union President and am still a student governor. But that’s also ok! I have my 100% and I believe that this is what is best for me. I hope others find this useful in some way. Personally hearing things like “it’ll get better” goes over my head, since I’d much rather hear, “you’re doing great right now!” So to any sufferers who are watching this, you’re doing amazing, keep up the good work!

I relate to this culturally, thank you both for sharing! I cried when your mom talked about Erin. I’m not a mom, but certainly of age, and it reminds me of my father’s incredible support. Sending love to both of you!

You are doing great Nura! My step daughter is graduating next week from college, she has been working towards this goal since she was in high school, it took 5 years to graduate college because covid set a lot of the kids back but the school allowed them to retake those courses at no cost. We will always have tough times in life but I actually changed how I think of this condition and now see it as a blessing; it is my body telling me when I am over doing, my body is talking to me and saying please slow down and treat yourself right because I am hurting; so I listen and in time we will find the right balance where we don't crash anymore. You are a very smart and beautiful girl. I wish you all the best in your life! ❤️

Big thanks to all three of you for this moving and uplifting episode. 🙏 Congratiulations for you Nura that you've come so far and are able to harvest the fruits of you patient labor. My biggest reminder were the baby-steps so that you don't loose ground under your feed while recovering. We know that it can be slippery quite fast..🙂 I wish you all the best on your further way back to full health..all the '"luck" you need. Of course I mean the kind of "luck" to which Toby often refers to: "labour under correct knowledge". 😉🍀 Only we can give this luck to ourselves. It doesn't fall from the sky😅

I haven't been formally diagnosed but starting to wonder if I have some form of CFS. I've had health issues for years and family and friends said I was lazy. Watching this video is very helpful.

Oh yes being called lazy! You are not! One of the hardest things I have had to do is stop taking in what other people were saying to me about me. It's not true, you are not lazy; stop caring what others think, it has an effect on you and it's not positive. They just don't understand, even doctors don't understand and will tell you it's all in your head; move past it so you can get well. Stay in this community to reinforce yourself and be supported by others who understand.

What a remarkable young woman, who is clearly wise beyond her years! I’m disgusted and appalled that the doctors spoke that way to you both! Shame on them, so I inappropriate! Blessings to you both! 🙏

I want to start with journaling, do you have any recommendations for us with chronic fatigue?
@Nunu-ym7eb
@Nunu-ym7eb Жыл бұрын
Personally, I have tried journalling and haven't found it effective, but for those who found it worked, they usually just note down the small things. Stuff like "I went downstairs today" or "I was able to make my own lunch". After a bit of time, it can be quite rewarding to look back on it and see how far you've actually come since it's not easy to see your progress when you see yourself everyday.
