Sri Lankan Voters have been dumb enough to select these, false, treacherous, unreliable, disloyal, characters to the parliament. If you examine the ancestral lineage some of them, many have changed their religion to win the Buddhist votes. Some descendent claim their lineage to Arrak & Toddy Renters the wealth they used to hoodwink the voters. For people to remain in power they need money, the money they used to buy the votes. Some even boast about what their lineage had done in figurative language to convey the meaning that they are proud descendants of parents who sacrificed their wealth to protect the Sinhala Buddhists. You are doing a Yeoman service to the country & hopeful eye-opener to the voters.

Many historical facts could be learnt through this series of video. Meanwhile I hope some light can be shed on the following. There is a story that SLFP was formed in 1952 under British intelligence advice in order to avoid LSSP coming to power defeating unpopular unp at 1956 election. Same time there is also a story that when SWRD crossed the floor to go to opposition , there were 7 members lined up. But an mp who was fully drunk at the bar just followed swrd to opposition without even knowing what he was doing, thus adding one mores member to swrds team of mps. At the end this drunk mp was never recognised other than for a deputy minister position even under srimavo. Same way we need some light on Rajapaksa politics
Why are you hiding my first comment.It has very clearly explained the problems of making Sinhalese the official language.Only thing I have to add is that we have to still educate our doctors and engineers in the only international language that we know

How did S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, who was an Anglican Christian by birth, name the "United Monks Front" as the leader of the Sinhala Buddhist force? He didn't give up Christianity until he died, did he?
@kaarigechannel1 Жыл бұрын
When he entered politics in the 1920s, he abandoned Anglicanism and embraced Buddhism.

Kaari, we can understand from this video series about the way "Sinhala as the official language" was exploited by politicians and how they created a "non-existing" problem for political advantage. A much simpler solution of allowing Tamil language use in Tamil populated areas in official government documents and administration as well as organizing translation services via a dedicated government authority to aid Sinhala to Tamil translation services and vice versa, would've solved that "non-existing" problem for the most part. Instead our self serving politicians opted for the 'solution' of trying to 'fix' the centuries of Sinhala Buddhist grievances via overnight politically poorly implemented actions which were manufactured to serve their own political thriving and survival. May I ask whether you can do a video series about Anagarika Dharmpala from historical/political perspective, sometime soon after the end of this series about the Official State Language political history? Particularly, if you can shed light on the last chapter of Dharmapala where he left for India permanently with an alleged vow of never to return, would be of great help for many of us to understand the beginning and end of Dharmapala's national movement as well as what it expanded/evolved into after his departure. Correct me if I am wrong, I am yet to find a comprehensive historical, political and autobiographical literary account of Dharmapala's work. In other words, I don't think anybody's done any broad based research on Dharmapala to produce such a research in the form of a book. Thank you

now it has been done . in north and east tamil language have given more importance .
Unfortunately due to these short-sighted policies of our scheming poloticians who without the foresight to envisage the disastrous consquences to the country due to policies of this nature has resulted in the country being racially divided and paved the way for a 30 year long war and the unfortunate fall out is still being experienced. Where do we go from here? Without a resolution to resolve this thorn in the flesh and restore harmony between the Sinhala and Tamil people can the country make progress ?
@kaarigechannel1 Жыл бұрын
If there is harmony between the Sinhalese and Tamil people, the so-called politicians will cease to exist.

Kaari, what has been happened now( as at 01/18/2024) ? You know what has happened after "Sinhala only Act" passed on July 07, 1956 ! Repercussions -30-year ethnic war and '71 April insurrection ! Still its repercussions are being😮😮, severely experienced by us ! Fortunately, Tamil Language became an Official Language as per 13th Amendment to the present Constitution on Nov.14, 1987. We should realize- "United we stand; divided we fall"!
