We sold our house to buy a boat last year, we moved aboard the week before Christmas. We originally looked for a used boat, hoping to find a fairly recent one we could just step aboard and sail away, but we eventually bought a 90% complete project boat that someone had bought as a sailaway, and finished it off ourselves. Like yours, we have a Tyler Wilson shell, and everyone I've spoken to has said how good those shells are. Ours swims beautifully, it's a dream to steer and it makes cruising so much more relaxing. Must add that I love the colour of your boat, it will certainly stand out!

@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked Yes, it is a big change. We were looking to downsize the house, and I was retiring, so a move onto a boat was very attractive. We are both loving it, we can't believe how friendly and helpful most other boaters are. The boat is called Wilson, the boatyard it was fitted out at referred to it as 'The Wilson', so when they took it to be painted they had 'Wilson' written on the side. We like the name, so decided not to change it.

We've recently started going out on cruises for a few days at a time and fully enjoying the boat. Ditto on Donna's comments. Your art work is really why I watch your vlog. Your sense of scene and space is remarkable. I know there are those that will talk about the similarities between you and the Foxes (I enjoy watching them too) but there is a really difference and it's your photos and art work. I don't mean my comments in a negative way, but the Foxes vlog's are canal centric and very well done. Your's is art and beauty centric. You'll show birds, flowers, landscapes, etc., regardless of their possible reference to canal boating. Perhaps that will change once your boat is built. Any clues as to your new boat's name?

Like the astronomers we can see the beautiful photography work of Paul but we can not see what is undoubtedly your influence on him and your relationship. I'm sure just as you are a part of each other, he's reflecting you back in his work. You are still a rather aloof personality on the vlogs. I get the impression you tolerate his blogging, but prefer to be in the lime light. Is there any chance at all that you can do ONE vlog episode as the main character? Love to hear about you. The price changes depending on the cost of steel and how far in advance your order it. So would be best speaking to the boat builder 👍
