Hey! I am 17, living in Germany and thinking of moving to Vancouver to pursue a graphic design career there after graduating a technical school focused on graphic design. When I graduate I should be 20. Do you think it is a good idea to move that far away from my family to live in Vancouver in my first ever own apartment (which I will rent ofc)
@vancouverexplained Жыл бұрын
Hey! It depends if you will be receiving financial assistance from your family I would say. I did what you are planning to do a few years ago and I learnt a ton and grew as a person lots. However, rent was not as expensive back then. Let me know if that answers your question and thanks for watching!

@@vancouverexplained honestly I am thinking of going to college in Vancouver (La Salle college) and doing a graphic design diploma there one big reason for that being that I only have graphic design stuff there, not other subjects like maths and physics which really broke my ankles last year in school. Plus I could really get an in-depth feel for what it is like to live there before actually making the big move.

Hej Jag bor i Stockholm.

Allt gott!

Hej! You have very useful videos! I would like to know your opinion regarding life quality between Sweden and Vancouver. We live in Sweden at the moment but there's a serious possibility of moving to Vancouver soon. I worry that the general quality of life is so much better in Sweden than everywhere else. For you as a Swede, do you miss things from back home, aside from your family and food? Living quality, food quality...anything you can give your opinion of would be helpful! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing all this info!
@vancouverexplained3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I don't miss Sweden at all except for family and food ;) I had the same worry before I moved here, since Sweden is known as one of the best countries in the world and that's what everyone thinks. Quality of life is higher here, but expensive(probably similar price range to Sthlm). There is everything from beaches to mountains to citylife, you feel safe from crime, you feel hopeful about the future. I myself have become much healthier since I moved here because I find life more precious and worth to live since moving here :) Does that answer your question?

@@vancouverexplained Thank you for your response! It does help. So, we live in Gothenburg (for almost five years now) and just yesterday, as my husband wanted a break from work (we work from home) we just walked a few steps, like 2 minutes worth of walking and entered our local little forest where we found 5 deer being lovely, all the birds in the world. We live quite near the centre of town and having access to nature like this is something that we value a lot. This is more like the quality of life that I wonder if it's accessible over there, without a car. Nature around you, peaceful walks, fresh and clean air. I guess the key is not to compare places since they all have their own magic. I'm glad is working great for you!

Hi, thanks for this video. I am a dependent spouse n I and my husband have applied for PR after getting our BC PNP. I also have an open work permit but am struggling to get a job as i don't have much work experience. I tried applying for recruiter and production coordinator jobs but they all need min of 2yrs experience. Is there any decent job that i can apply which doesn't need any prior experience? I am badly in need of a job. Thanks in advance 😊
@vancouverexplained2 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry that this is a little late, but my suggestion is that you get a low-skill job maybe as a cashier or something similar. That would give you a reference that can testify that you are a good worker for when you apply for a better job. Typically all good jobs require references unless you perform exceptionally in the interview. Thanks for watching!
