Tip 1: When using the super sized detergent, often there is "drippage". Purchase a small bottle of the same detergent. When it is used up refill it from the venting cap instead of the regular spout. Storing that mega bottle in a less accessible area is ok because it is used less frequently. The small bottle takes up less easy access space.

You guys have awesome houses in the US - you all seem to have a lot of storage space. My house, here in the UK, is small with hardly any storage. The main bedroom has a tiny closet, but that's near enough all the space. We had an extension built with a section for our washer and dryer, but compared to all those I saw - mine is small! I'd love an American style washer and dryer - I could do so much washing! Btw the befores and afters were great - everybody did a fantastic job!

I wish mine looked like yours. My laundry is in an empty ugly basement xD. I might paint the concrete and brighten the walls up with a coat of white paint.
@ThriftDiving5 жыл бұрын
You should definitely paint! There is a brand of paint called DryLoc that actually seals concrete/cinder block walls and you can get different colors (seals, like if your walls get moisture). But if you don't get moisture through those walls, you can totally use a regular paint. But I like the idea of a colorful DryLoc paint! Go for it! It makes laundry that much less stressful to walk into a clean area. :)
@_LUNARVAEZ5 жыл бұрын
@@ThriftDiving Yeah I do get that and I will see if my local home depot has that brand. That would be wonderful if it would help with that. I will have to see if there is a video on how to properly paint cement. The previous owners must have painted the floors, but it flaked away to the grey concrete and I wouldn't want that to happen.
@barbkeen12215 жыл бұрын
My dad did that years ago in our basement and he used what they had back then (70's) to seal the cement walls. He used a bright yellow so it wasn't so dark down there. The walls never leaked until mom got a slight crack in it when we had a earthquake several years ago. Never thought that we'd have one in Maryland! 😮

If you have any ideas/tips to share I would love to hear about them! :)
@ettaz5 жыл бұрын
Best tip I have for you is to not let it pile up. If you let it go for a while, all of a sudden, you have 5 loads, whites and colors to deal with, and it turns into an all day chore. Just keep up with it, one load at a time, it's something you can do in the evening (especially if you have a drier - I don't). Try to make it appealing by rewarding yourself every time you do it. Seeing the bottom of the laundry basket is enough reward for me, but you may need something else, like a treat or a special kind of coffee or drink.
