It seems like the usual example of a GM trying too hard to beat someone he felt he "should" beat. I expect Carlsen would have grabbed the bishop pair on the first opportunity, happily accepting the two bishops plus a space advantage, and settled in for a long squeeze. Instead Nigel tried to keep the position unbalanced, probably hoping his less experienced opponent would make a mistake somewhere along the way. But she didn't.

Would like to see Antonio look at a couple of those. His King Walk came against Jan Timman is one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. 3 times British Champion. 3 time Commonwealth Champion. He beat a murderers row of candidates to earn a shot at the world title. He was destroyed by Kasparov, but who wasnt at that time? He beat Boris Gelfand, Jonathan Speelman, Anatoly Karpov and Timman. Ranked as high as # 4 in the world at one time. Not as strong as he once was and I'll tell you there has been a slew of these 17 and 18 year olds winning big games and titles now, its crazy.
