My fellow Steve. Nice to see you back. I knew that you were making a big name for yourself in the Stones communities and here on You Tube. But you never told me that Jello Biafra was commenting on your videos. {smile} So good to hear that the cat has made a complete recovery. Being a huge animal lover I get stoked whenever I hear any positive news. I do keep up on the cats network through Stern. His wife Beth has nurtured a slew of abused cats back to health and also found homes for them. Warms my soul. I could never own a kitten because I am allergic to their fur. But I always play with my brother's cat. I pay the price later on. But its all worth it. After you mentioned Bill German. I read this paragraph which is from an interview that he did. I loved the growing up in Brooklyn/Saturday Night Fever reference. Very funny when he says "most of the kids my age were into Tony Manero, not Keith Richards. Wow. I never knew that Ronnie released the Live at the Ritz with Bo Diddley. Looks like he drew the front cover sketch. When you showed the Royal Albert Hall album with Weller and Bobby Womack and said it was a new released I was a bit confused. Strictly on my part and not yours. Being a longtime fan of Womack I knew that he had passed on in 2014 but I was hoping that I was wrong. Then I saw that the album was a new release but the actual show was from 2013. Thank heavens for album notes. {smile} Always a pleasure Steve. Looking forward to the next Stones installment or a vinyl update. Hope you guys are doing better than ever. Sat in touch. Fellow New Englanders have got to stay in touch. Talk to you soon~ Rob/Boston

All a pleasure my friend Rob. Great to hear from you. We are so thankful the med worked for Lance. We will get him checked soon, but he has some cancer, and we are just watching. Glad you are fan, and yes, I know how much Stern/Beth were into them with north Shore. I can watch crime and war movies and watch the killings, but have to turn my head or cringe to any animal abuse. I am real bad with it. Yes, Bill and I have a lot in common, and his readings are great! As you know and remember how sides just split when Sat Night Fever came out....and how we lost some RnR fans. I should have mentioned Ronnie 2013....did not think about it, but glad you saw that. Hating the cold more and more as I get older. First time last weekend I paid to have my driveway plowed. My wife agreed it is wise to spend it. cheers my friend and we will meet up one day. LOL Jello, yea a dear RnR'er.

This channel was the first Vinyl Community channel i saw, some years ago. For me, it's still the best. All about the passion for music, for records, for books, for bands. Not about accumulating and sound fidelity which, of course, has its space but is not for me. Steve always talks about music with a unique and inspiring passion that i truly admire. All about the music, no egos, just the music. Thank you for that. And for those wonderful documentaries.

We remember the magazine & adverts that appeared in Stones LP's. The Quicksilver, Leon Russell, Ronnie Wood, LP's look good. The Ronnie & Bo live at the Ritz LP is a good listen, the CD version includes an extra track. Like the vintage Rolling Stone magazine, good luck with the upcoming Some Girls Documentary. Take care. A real pleasure....hitchhiked....we dont hear that word anymore. Philly 78', I missed it, and friends went. I will talk about that show for sure. Shattered was another song that was so out of the box, and hearing that live at that show, and not getting much time to hear it and be familiar with it from the album must have been mind blowing to hear. IT is so unusual and not a typical Stones sound up to that point. glad you are a devoted RnR Stones fan.....we will be in touch!! more vinyl to come

@ Dave Lost that msg. Where did it go? Fat thumbs. Okay Dave the quick version . Dave, first, I’ll try to get back to you with a longer message. I LOVE YOUR LIST !!!! Voodoo lounge 94 yes in there for me too. From that Era STRIPPED 95 I believe CHARLIE WATTS said that one was very good in his opinion. He took a shine to that one . I believe he thought the sound quality was very good. But I’m only counting not live albums for my list and I forgot to say my list was in no exact particular order. On songs and albums I’ve found that if I keep listening to it , it will grow on me . DANCING WITH MR D as a song was one of those it grew on me. Black and Blue was another one as for albums it grew on me. They grow on you and after a while you can’t get them off . I heard SHINE A LIGHT on stripped my first time . That stripped from 95 really grew on me ! Then I had to find Exile on MS 72 to hear the original. And just to hear the whole thing . But it was actually stripped that brought me to EXILE . Aside from everyone talking about it . I heard EXILE my first time while being in Toronto for my very first time for an extended visit. That’s another story. I was hell on wheels at that time and it’s a good thing I didn’t get sticky fingers at that point because even under the influence of Exile which I think brought me back to earth a bit and got my feet on the ground. Sorry to any Toronto people that might have been in my path of rocket fire . lol Anyways I love your LIST!!!! I’m sorry mine wasn’t in any order. I guess STICKY FINGERS #1 LET IT BLEED #2 those are very close for me -- hard to decide but let’s go with that . GOATS HEAD SOUP #3 After that it’s hard to list them up But of course EXILE IS IN THERE I love some of the songs from BEGGERS BANQUET very very much !!!!!! More or less what is on get your ya yas out is what I like on banquet . The others I’ve mentioned. LOODOO L has to be in there for me . BLACK AND BLEW really grew on me !!!! Yikes I can’t get it off !!! I like that one more and more and more It just grows and grows !!!! Me too I don’t like it when people trash STONES ALBUMS!!!!

Hi Dee...thank you. I am sort of going chronological.....I have some more to dive into in SG doc. I have so much SG info I am trying to figure out where to stop. I am looking possibly after 78 tour. That would mean you would not get closure to the Keith toronto trial/ending. I may need to wait to see as I get closer to the end of SG on how to end it. Maybe include up to 79'. Compiling a short version doc would be nice for some folks. But I made these as I got tired of the small docs people would show for 10-15 min. These detailed docs are the only way I feel I can get my point across and not miss anything. plus....I have too much to say and want to get out NEW info to folks to see. But honestly, however, if someone paid me to make that type of doc, I would find a way. thanks

Hey Steve one little note.......don’t listen to the critics or the nay sayers............we used to say when I studied philosophy in uni .....it’s pretty easy to sit and criticize.......but to come up with something better....is a lot much much harder. And much more productive! If anyone can do better than you themselves I’d like to see them try. IF YOU DO DO SOMETHING LIVE GIVE THEM HELL!! If any of those pricks should happen to come out of the wood work! The last few docs of yours I’ve looked at you are absolutely on fire! 🔥 And they your friends don’t have to be perfect...nobody has to be perfect....this isn’t flying an airplane ✈️ or doing brain surgery. I think you are already a very self reflective and self critical person . You may be close to being a perfectionist already with amazing attention to detail. That’s enough already right there ! No need to try to fix what’s not broken:) This past awww since day about a month ago or a bit longer say from January 13 until now has been a bit hard and isolating for me ....lots of time spent just waiting for people to overcome illness. Not a lot of people to talk to . Not really anyone who speaks a word of English around here to speak of . It’s been a bit hard . So I’m sorry if I’ve ever come across a little bit too pushy or direct with my opinions or my speculations . After coming out of all this - happy only one person I know of died so far - and thank gosh it was back in Canada and not here - I’ll try to get myself polished up again . I feel as though I’ve not been tactful enough.

Hey Dave, Yes, I’m sort of back. That Detroit really makes me think. There is just sooo much history and potential there for a Motown Glory Days classic theme city developed within the city. Love to see that some day! Of course it would all revolve around music and vibe. Almost like an open walk around live air theme park museum. Of course people paying to get in and all sorts of nostalgia. Bring people in that can verify that’s what it was genuinely like and that sort of thing. Get as close to genuine old glory days Motown as possible. Motown Town . Dig it ! There is no need to blow nothing that’s a great town with a great history! But I’m the kind of guy who wants to bring back some of the old cars from the past so I could be a minority on this. I can it can never be exactly the same but one can dream and it might be able to be the next best thing to just as good. :) Yeah!!! MOTOWN TOWN !!! That would be great to create that in the inner city. Maybe even have a few assembly lines making real old style cars while they were at it! EVERYTHING ALL IN !!!!! AND ALIVE!!!! I’m back. There have been some hard days. People around me getting the virus who are close to me and dearly loved! They have all recovered now. It wasn’t really fun to live through that but it wasn’t the end of the world either. But it was kind of a scary bummer and a lot of time spent waiting for them to be okay. After that you don’t feel like going inside anywhere to eat or anything like that. You want to get hot take out and go for a drive away from all the people. We don’t know how they got it exactly but I didn’t catch anything yet. Canada is much much worse than here. So I guess I’m lucky! I’ll count my lucky stars I’m not in Canada right now. I feel that Canada would have a lot to learn from Japan. Our government has become very good at pissing everyone off and making them feel not free or liberated or autonomous. I feel it’s a sad day for oh Canada! :l But i’m here and that’s going on there. I will say they have had a lot of precision support from Americans south of the property line. :) but I’m very lucky to be with family and friends here and now everything is basically alright. AND WHATS ALRIGHT IS ALRIGHT!!!! Do you have a favorite Stones album? Or a top 5 ? For me Let it bleed Sticky fingers Goats head soup Exile on main st in there too but not all 18 songs a good 12 -15 out of it . I find myself skipping a few of those and others I want to hear 3 times . Tattoo You Some girls Black and Blue is HUGE in Japan! They love that record album! I don’t know ? What would that say about the Japanese ?

Hey there Steve! FlipsideCT yes it’s been great and it has made times better and been of some great help. Can you recommend something of yours for me to watch? The making of SOME GIRLS in autumn of 1977 and released in 1978 was very interesting. I might go back to that one. I learnt from you that, that one was made in New York City. A raw New York City album you said ( if I’m not mistaken ) and that wouldn’t have likely been possible if it hadn’t been for Keith’s Toronto bust and recovery/rehabilitation that he was able to be afforded the opportunity of. It’s interesting for me to imagine Keith working on that new album with the Stones right after or while getting cleaned up! AND IN NEW YORK!!! Wow! I’ll have to take a look at that one again. I got so in to the drug bust and rehab stuff I didn’t get to the making of the new SOME GIRLS album part much! If they had totally bombed that or if Keith would have fallen back even more deeply into drugs I don’t know what would have happened.. I can’t even begin to imagine the stones that way . Not even..just my imagination. I love the way they pulled out of that period and preserved and prevailed. Keith, said once that, that was actually in reality a very productive period for them.

Okay, I’ll find it for you what I think I remember hearing you say. Maybe I got it all wrong about some girls. Have to check back. I’m sorry. The thing is I’ve often wondered why more Stones Albums weren’t made or finished in New York. My understanding has been they look for places where there are a bit less distractions to make or finish albums. Places that are a bit more low key. Some Girls was an exception to this because of where Keith needed to be? Maybe I made a mistake.

@@gregdettling6693 I will first say I don't dislike any Stones album. But Santanic was low on my list of listening.. I have heard the reissue of it in Stereo recently, and have grown much more to it. I do need to get that 50th reissue on Vinyl as I need to give it a deeper listen. I am a guitar guy, which is why Taylor and Wood is what I gravitate to listening more. That is why pre 68' I have less knowledge about and that means I need to work harder to understand it more. I am not so crazy of so many multi layered sounds and multi track vocals and choruses. Not a fan of Psych, only a few bands. that is just me. I will say She's A Rainbow and mostly 2000kLYFH is kick ass. I was floored to hear it on 89' tour. I would love to work on all the albums.....I am still on the fence on this one.

At the same time...that’s just a sign of your success....there are always going to be those 5%ers and rascals and trouble makers if you have any success at all. Early on I think someone spit on Keith’s boots when he was playing on stage. Nasty people out there. But it didn’t stop him from kicking them did it??? I think I read that his LIFE. I’m glad you just give them a kick and get rid of them. Unfortunately it’s an unwanted sign of success. I will guess that’s been going on ever since the days of the monkey man . Easy target. Take a shot at it . Try to pull people down who are getting any positive attention for their success and hard work. All they want is any sort of reaction I think. It’s all mind games with them. But for some reason that I’ve yet to understand this internet can make them more penetrating....seems like. Maybe that’s Toronto school the message is the means. They have their ways of getting in and crashing the good things that are going on. Could there be a cyber prison with a virtual death penalty we could put them in ? It’s a form of harassment is what it is. Best is not to even pay it much thought 💭 Yuk I feel creepy just thinking about these troubled people who can’t really be brought to justice in a way . It’s going to get more and more policed as time goes on . Records kept of inappropriate behavior and so on.. got to leave room for freedom of speech in the system but got to make it so those that are consistently inappropriate and harassing are warmed and pulled out, I feel . The best we can do is to BLOCK THEM and Delete them and as you say disengage and not give them any reaction.. And that activity and vibe is SOOO NOT ROCK AND ROLL TOO ! Let’s forget all about them and focus on the ROCK AND ROLL 🎸! I’m not going to bring this subject up ever again! It’s best to be a closed subject....closed and done with . 'O of OHs'/'Aftmth'/'Btwn the Btns' had some of their most iconic songs ever! But, there were songs I could live w/o as well. I also feel bad leaving 'IOR&R'/'Undcvr..' off. Just not enough room. I ALSO feel bad leaving 'Through TPDrkly' off the list. More than just a greatest hits; It had 4 songs never on an album before. ('Flowers' doesn't count) I think if aliens from space asked to hear Rock 'n Roll; THIS is the album I would give them! I hope FlipSideCt appreciates that I managed to slide 'B&B' into my list. Sorry I was way off on that one it seems....first shows in North America were usually not Boston New York....they seemed to hit other places first or the West Coast. I was totally off on that one but I’d like to check where they flew to and landed first. Wouldn’t they have wanted their first tour publicity to have been New York and Boston for their first two US tours of 64 ? To sort of prime and prep those places and the rest of America for the upcoming tours? Sorry I was miles away on that one. The Beatles did it differently I think. They hit Boston and New York first I think both with live shows and publicity. Would definitely make sense to not play those places first however in order to be good and hot before playing the biggest markets with the largest potential and influential fan and media base. It’s okay to hit the west coast with something new but need to be hot and ready to hit Boston and New York. But I’ll bet where they landed and have gained some of the first publicity would have been Boston and New York. And handy for not running out of airplane ✈️ fuel ⛽️ too . I’ll try to look more in to this . I was also surprised they hit Texas so soon right after the west coast . They must have surprised people in Texas with their long hair in 64 but on the other hand Texas has quite a bit of rock and roll history and Buddy Holly’s hair wasn’t exactly a buzz cut. But I can see them not being liked by some people down in Texas. Nebraska too ! Haha 😆 awwww Omaha ! This is the police ! You put down that bottle of whisky boy !
