Glad Cameron shared his story. Some aspects I could relate to. It's so sad to hear his kids worry about him after he dies.

I am not LDS., however Cameron's message is for anyone. I found out late in life that I'm Asexual. I was married. His struggle is genuine and I have great compassion for his dedication to the Church. His marriage and now to HIMSELF.

You are a great man, unselfish and loving. Your children are fortunate to have you be close to them. They will understand that you as their father will always be with them, appreciate your courage. Please take care of yourself, you are and will be OK,

What a beautiful human Cameron. I have listened and watched this twice. I am inspired and uplifted. Thank you for all you shared. This interview is a blessing for many. There are So Many Beautiful Humans that feel they are the only one like them in the mormon church. I want everyone to know they are just as beautiful and wonderful and valuable as every other one of God’s creations. This earth is amazing. We are amazing. Let everyone be glad and love being alive♥️🌴 And think and feel for themselves. I have spent my life in fear because of the teachings of the church, but now I am happy and no longer full of fear and dread. I feel peaceful and joyful and glad.

WOWOWOW!!! Raw, naked, revealing---I was gobsmacked by your frankness Cameron, particularly the fertilization clinic story! Thanks and thanks again for being so blunt! I dodged this bullet, when my fiancé fortunately canceled our engagement 35 years ago! Now, former Mormon with husband of 33 years and three adopted children in Minnesota.

Bad place to be, but living in Tennessee also. Maryville Tennessee area. My pov that the church any church, hurts more than help in most areas. In southern Baptist Church, once saved, most young ppl left at the altar to figure this out. Be blessed both of you. Sincerely Greg. I lost my partner of 25 years to COVID in 21 and God has other plans for our older years.

This story hits very close to home and parallels my path in so many ways with the church and being in the closet. The resulting trauma we all endured with our generation growing up in the 80s and 90s and the similarities in our stories is amazing. Thank you for sharing!

Cameron, thank you for your vulnerability. Yes, you will be okay, you will be more than okay! Over time you will discover that it does continue to get better. Two weeks from today, my husband and I (twenty years together, eight years married) and my former wife and her husband (married twenty four years) will celebrate together as my former wife’s and my oldest son will marry at age 41. Blessings today and always!!

I’ve been listening to LGS for a while but this is my first time commenting because Cameron’s story was so honest and unfolding. Thanks for the amazing content. Cameron you are amazing and are on the “authentic” path. Was there any impact to your professional setting after coming out and do you share custody with your kids now? Thanks for inspiring all of us.

There are two things in particular that impressed me during this interview: 1. When he came out to his wife, and as he was crying, she said it was OK and held him in her arms... Quite a gal, I'd say..!!! 2. After he had come out to his wife, she eventually suggested he sleep with a man just to "see" (how it went?)... Though he had not been living an emotionally and mentally truthful life, yet he refused to betray her physically (not many men would have that integrity).... Bottom line: Somewhere in time there are two awfully lucky people waiting to take these two people (ex-husband, ex-wife) in their arms and shower them with all the love they need and desire. Peace be with them both - this day, and always........ As a post script: That any church (and I use the term loosely here) would frighten a child literally to tears causing them believe that, because of a parent's sexual orientation, they will never see that parent again in the hereafter - it brings me to rage....!!! That act, in of itself, is evil... Hummmm, this one just might be worth a follow-up interview... (Kyle: Hint, hint...)

Man, these stories are so very sad. Coming out as Gay is terribly difficult and complicated even for those of us who weren't immersed in toxic religion. I really admire Cameron and the other folks who have sat with an interview with Kyle. Telling honest stories is so helpful. Religion is so damaging.

Cameron is so unselfish and brave in this interview, clearly aiming to help others facing the same incredibly complex emotions and life situation. He appears to reveal something not immediately apparent: that according to LDS doctrine, even if he prevailed in his marriage and abstained from acting on his sexuality, at the Resurrection he would nevertheless still be gay. Is this the case? Also, his son, evidently an ardent LDS follower is deeply upset at the thought that at the Resurrection his father, having left the church will not be present. If Cameron has rejected the church because he finds it wanting, how can he nevertheless tolerate his children’s attendance? And surely going to LDS therapists and marriage counselling has to be futile?

The church can never repay or be forgiven for the psychological abuse, torment, and damage they have done to the queer community. What the church has done can never be downplayed or understated. It’s abuse. So much pain and sadness that didn’t need to happen. So much unnecessary grief and lost life. Anyone that puts their kid into religion before they can think that for themselves is abusing their children (whether they know it or not).

Many parallels with my own life.I hope Camera will find the partner he needs. I don't quite understand the "God made me this way" idea. Then, we have to say God made some folk with Downs Syndrome, He made some with deformed limbs, He made some with a harelip deformity. I think how we are born is a crap shoot-DNA strands twist together, hormones do their thing, or don't, and presto, we are born as we are. I don't think God micro-manages reproduction. Otherwise, wouldn't we all come out perfectly former?

I feel bad this fella had to hide but if he had just be true, there wouldn't be a trail of broken lives left behind him. Religion is so damaging.
