Coat the coffee grinder with linseed oil and let it sit for a while. Then wipe the excess oil off of it. It will give the grinder a nice patina look and will not allow the dusty rust to come back. That would be a beautiful piece to restore.

I don't know if anyone else suggested it but you might try Polident tablets to soak that platter in to remove the old stains. The tablets are used to whiten dentures and a lot of people use them in the toilet as well. If you soak the platter in a tub of them it might have the muscle you need to budge those stains. They are supposed to clean dirty coffee makers/foggy glass etc. Worth a shot.

Good on ya for getting rid of the Keurig! The little coffee station looks cute, and I wonder if the grinder can be made functional? Containers for the packaged foods would further enhance the look of the pantry and keep small critters out of it. Must be great to have a pantry like that so handy to the kitchen. Sometimes it's so hard to know where to start when trying to organise. I'll be in the same boat in a week's time when the shipping container with all our 'stuff' arrives on the other side of Australia to our retirement home. It took a week to put everything in and I still missed so much and hopefully only a day or two to unload. The organising will happen after, when the rest of the family go back. My son and I have the task of trying to find places for everything, not looking forward to that at all! Good job Laura.

8:20 Curtain tie backs - they can actually be anything you want and are adaptable to your decorating scheme. Laundry cord isn't actually bad if you're dealing with a shabby chic/vintage vibe. There's also burlap, fancy cord, ribbons, or you can sew them from a complimentary fabric (since the curtain is patterned I would recommend a plain fabric type). You would either sew little loops on the ends of the tie back or you could put in grommets to have a good place to hang over whatever hook or nail you put in the side molding to hold the tie backs.

I saw a recipe for removing brown stains from ironstone plates. Soak item in 40% peroxide for a few weeks. Put in preheated 250 oven, lined with foil, leave plate in for 20 minutes. The recipe says the brown stains will rise to the surface. Hot soapy water and gentle scrub should remove the residue. Good luck!
