It’s funny that you said this, because earlier this week I was going to comment to Scott the very same thing. Kids and grandkids cleaning out their parent’s and grandparent’s homes and taking the items to thrift shops.

I can remember my grandmother never wanting to use china left to her by her great Aunt believing it to be too valuable to use. My Mother in turn doesn't use the set although its been hers for 20-30 years. I have no connection with the items, no fond memories. The nice things I find at the the thrift store or ebay, I use. I rotate them around and change out for holidays and seasons. I want my children to have a connection with the things I treasure. 😊

I love watching what you find. I physically cannot go thrifting. Age, paralysis and I stopped driving. I get everything from EBay or Etsy. Not ideal I know, but who said life was ever ideal? I live alone in a small house, so I often buy things when the seller lists a small quantity like 3. When I entertain I usually only need 3 place settings. And I don’t have the storage room for more. I love your show. At first I thought I wanted to collect MCM. But I grew up in a 1920s bungalow along the NY PA border. Watching your show made me aware the homey look I was longing for was the 1940s not MCM. The same eras you love. It’s familiar to me. Born post war in 1947. Your shows inspire me so much. Thank you.

The tea set KNOCKED my eye out!😮. I’m afraid I won’t ever find a pair of Mantle Lusters. I went to an Antiques consignment store in the early 2,000s. The owner told me her daughter had one on every table at her wedding she had collected for her! 😀❤️🐩 P.S… I love the linens and ephemera will be monthly 🙌🏻

The little goblets are nice, but I just love the psychedelic strawberry tea set! Those beautiful lusters might even be immediately post WWII. Little matter, they ain't new! Pretty runners, good luck with your sale tonight.

Those mantle lusters are stunning! Never seen the like. My mom had a pair of brass electric mantle lusters with etched glass chimneys of which i still have one but no glass chmney. Loved the tea set, you always find beautiful things, thx for all you do😅👍

Good eye. Not surprising. There must have been hundreds and hundreds of girls sitting in Japanese factories hand painting in the 1930's. Not much quality control on cheap items from Japan during the depression. Now help me find a sugar bowl lid!
