One of the things I personally enjoy about restoration videos is metal work on the lathe, making all the rivets and so on. I loved this video but it would have been so great to see all the work that went into the rivets, nails etc. It is immensely satisfying to see those things turned on a lathe. 😊

Consider getting a filter to go between your camera lens and the arc when welding. You can definitely damage the sensor without something to block at least the high intensity UV.

@@misterpatina The museum piece is there mainly to make the atmosphere of the pre WWII everyday life, plus to show people what was used then, just like the other stuff there, so it's a bit rusty and dusty. It's obvious that it wasn't used for a long time, yours is closer to how they were brand new but a lot cleaner and nice-looking than it has ever been :) I guess you can say it's a museum quality if you want to imagine what it was like to have it new. There are two ways I see on the internet: some people restore things and make them as pretty as they've never ever been before even brand new, some are trying to make vintage looking things from brand new ones, trying to make them look as if they were heavily used. No one is making rusty things restored, so they function at their best but then vintage them a bit, so they don't look brand new, instead they look like they were used in the everyday life for some time but weren't forgotten, were taken care of. They have some obvious signs of continuous and recent (!) usage but no signs of rust and crumble as if they weren't used for a long time. I don't know how to explain this idea better :)

Just a note from the lady side. That's a "swing iron". You put the coals in and swing the iron back and forth to make the coals glow hot. As long as you have coals, you don't have to "reheat" the iron. That's the reason for the "dents" at the face of the iron, so that the plate heats up faster.

Once again a perfect restoration by Mister Patina, it’s always a pleasure to enjoy your work! Video quality and editing is on point, simply perfect and the result is amazing, I love the antique finish. And of course last but not least, your sandblasting cabin 😍😍

Gorgeous! I think instead of “softly smoothing the edges” you mean “gently smoothing the edges”.
