I touched one. It was in Saratoga NY at the museum, the tour guide turned his back for just a second and I reached out and touched it. I'm sure the security cameras caught it but no one rushed out to tackle me. I bet it happened a lot. I'll never forget that moment. It's such a work of art!

This car has twin over head cams and supercharge. If this doesn't tell you enough about what the makers were striving for in 1936 then your viewing the wrong page. You don't get a Farrai250 gto if you don't have cars like this to set the standard.

This car is the first T-57 S Atlantic. It belonged for years to the Bugatti factory, and was driven by lots of Bugatti personnel - but especially Jean Bugatti. He designed the body and regarded it as his best design. It differs from the other Atlantics in having horizontal chrome strips along the mesh grills on the bonnet sides (like the Aérolithe) and having rear wheel spats. If I were if the fantastical position of being able to choose any Bugatti Atlantic, I would choose this one on appearance, and on history.

Bernardo Santos sigh. These cars are expensive. Yes, they were racing cars, but they aren't anymore. The Type 57 Aerolithe is a work of art & beauty from Ettore Bugatti's artistic hand and his son Jean. The 250 GTO was a work of art & beauty from the Belgian racing drivers in the 1960s. They are works of art, not racers...anymore.
@bernardomotard
@bernardomotard 8 жыл бұрын
+Johannes LaCroix (TheLegitaMate) a car that was made to race when it was first conceived, will always be intended to go fast. if ettore and enzo were alive today, they would agree with me. want art that doesn't go fast? get a painting, not a Bugatti or a Ferrari.

That is a Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, it has a four-speed manual gearbox and is powered by an eight-cylinder in-line engine with 3,257 cc and a power of 210 CV. It is capable of reaching a top speed of 210 km/h Approximately, its production was limited to 4 units of which 3 were manufactured in 1936 and one in 1938, one of them called "La Voiture Noire" would be sent in 1940 from Molsheim to Bordeaux in an attempt to protect it from the outbreak of the second war worldwide, on board a train that never reached its destination, so it remains missing and it is not known if it was destroyed or not.

Then I would have one dis-assembled and repainted Bugatti racing blue then add all the racing numbers and emblems. The other two would remain stock. When I park one of those at my local Walmart I bet it would draw a crowd.

Elegant for me varies with the car, ex; 30s hot rod , it has to be clean and built with precision. But with a 60s muscle car it has to be clean and powerful, with no flashy paint jobs. I can see why people value these cars so high, but its mainly for the name "Bugatti". Lincoln and Cord made extremely beautiful aluminum cars with excellent lines in the 30s, but those have low value due to their names. Here's a harder question for you how many stainless steel cars were made in the 30s?

Connor Nielsen I find it hilarious that you are replying negatively to everyone saying that. I was gonna comment GTA as well but forget it. We understand this car was the inspiration for the GTA V Z-Type dude. We just wanted to acknowledge it to those that give a shit. If you don't give a shit then carry on.
