Watched this several times. Windshield was out. Reinstalling with precision windshield rubber Great video however no explanation on which side of gasket goes to front and back or if it matters. Fair warning! More than 1 friend needed. We ended up strategical clamping a 4x4 block on the rubber at corners and top and bottom. And yes use soapy water or you will really struggle. After 8 hours of fighting and windshield is in. Good luck!

Well that took a while but you got it, well done!

What.....no soapy water? I've watched this video and one other, and the other used soapy water to help the rubber to slide onto the pinch weld. Great explanation on the corners....the other video merely said an assistant was necessary especially for the corners but didn't go into detail.

You could use soapy water, we've done that many times too. However, we have found that silicone is less messy and doesn't dry as quickly while you're doing the job so there is no need to constantly re-apply.

@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Good point. Are you talking about a silicone lubricant? I've got a windshield replacement coming up on a 71 c10. As soon as I can get the molding and the glass.

@@grumerguy Yes, standard silicone spray lube or even silicone detail spray works.

Is that the glue or snap on rubber weatherstrip for the windshield?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV6 жыл бұрын
Neither, it's the rope-in type. It slides onto the glass and then you install it using the rope method shown in the video.
