1950s Abandoned truck JOUSTRA rusty toy - Restoration

Here is a new video !
This is a rare abandoned mail truck from the French company JOUSTRA.
Also called "Les Camions Bernard ".
Probably made in the early 50's, it was in very bad shape.
The clockwork was completely seized... I usually don't need to fix these old mechanisms but for the first time I've had to see what's inside... I also needed to make new rear doors and a few little parts.
I used sandblasting and also electrolytic pickling to remove the rust.

Switch from sand to ground walnut shell in your blaster and it won't warp metal softer and less heat

By the way it's more 60's. The iconic Camions Bernard "TV-set" style, invert reclined grill, boxy face, designed by Philippe Charbonneaux, emerged in early 60"s, and didn't last long. The yellow was also adopted as their color by french postal service in 61. So 61-65 is probably the correct production period.
