I think you might be a bad influence on me I just bought a 86 xjs for a 1952 Chevy truck build and it came with a rebuilt 283 . It will also go in the truck. Hope you have a good day.

Nice! You will not be disappointed using that IFS, once you drive it you will understand why I have been putting them in so many cars and trucks over the years. Good luck with the build, and watch the upcoming videos, I will be going over more details on the Jaguar IFS.

That 55 Chevy landed in the perfect hands! Could you maybe show on video what you would consider too far gone for floors? I see some people grinding them down and sealing them. Besides obvious big holes, is there a point where you would deem them unsafe even if they haven’t rusted through? Thanks in advance, I’ve been binge watching this series but I’m going to call it a night now lol🤙

lol the 55 is still full of raccoon crap, so I have not been able to do a full inspection yet. Most older cars , at least in the north east, are going to need floor pans, it’s normal and not a big deal. Where it gets involved is if the floor supporting braces are rotted away, but for a 55 Chevy you can buy a full one piece floor pan with all the braces if needed. From what I can see on this car the braces are good, so will just need to replace the floor pans, the supporting structure looks good. Check out the floor pan repairs I had to do on the 55 Buick videos, those pans were shot. No floor is too gone not to be fixable, but on a unibody car they are much more important as far as structure and safety.
