great job !!!! ive watched sleeperdude as well ...hes cleaned up ,,,some of his chrome with scotch brite and comet ,,,,,sounds a bit harsh ,,,id test it ,,,but then he has probably allot more rust ,,,,the 292 engine ...please let me know of whos working on it ,,,,and if they can do upper cylinder work ,,,,im thinking thats whats going on with mine ,,,but ive told you that story ,,,...its still running pretty well ,,,,amybe the mystery oil is the miracle here ......but id like it to be more trust worthy ,,,if you know how i could sends pics of my vehicle ,,,,,,id love to show it to you ...STAY INSPIRED ,,,,YOURE DOING A GREAT JOB ,,,,wish i could do all that ,,,but i just don have all the money ,,but then ,,its not all that bad

I just did all of this on my 1956 Mercury which is pretty much identical for frame and inner fenders. just a little different actual body. I used a harbor freight sand blaster, wire wheels and some paint stripper. Then used primer and then 2k black paint which would be a little better then the rattle can you are using. I did the rust repair on any holes I found also. I would suggest getting 2k rattle can instead of the standard home depot stuff if you do not want to spray with a gun and compressor. Either way she is looking good. I will add I am not a pro, just learning as I go also.

I wasnt even aware there was such a thing as 2K paint. I will have to look for it.. But considering the rusted out body, any paint is better than no paint. Ha. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@muchgooderish 2k is just a 2 part paint. There is a hardener in it. It is like what you would use to spray a car professionally BUT they do offer it in an aerosol can. You just pop the bottom to release the hardener and then shake and spray. Stronger/better paint but it does cost more. And once you mix in the hardener there is a short shelf life.
