No matter how many times I see this year and make and model I get goosebumps. Best looking cars of its time and still is a great representation of the great years of car building gone bye!

This car is absolutely stunning for 1959. No matter what it is, coupe, sedan, Impala, or Bel-Air, the Biscayne is still a good choice for classic enthusiasts and collectors! The ride was amazing!

My dad owned one when i was probably 14 years old or so . He bought it used but it was in great shape .It was a six cylinder with three on the tree. I used to like watching him shift it from 1st to 3rd.gear. It had original paint / green and white. How i wanted to drive that car.

Beautiful car, great video. I wish cars were made this simple today without all of the computer crap. I also love chrome... even on this base model Chevy you got more chrome than most cars today. Gotta love that V8.

This '59 is beautiful! Not many vintage car owners would take the time to make a 4 door into such a showcase. I have a '59 Belair 4 door sedan in similar condition. I've heard many times that I have a beautiful car, to bad it's a 4 door. But I'm glad that I own a great example of the family car that the 4 doors represented.

What a great car, eh? I have a 1959 Belair 4 door sedan. Watching this video makes me want to go out and drive her. Nothing more beautiful than a '59 Chevy! Mine is done in Aztec Copper with copper interior. Love your video, I'm hoping to make one myself soon. I noticed the horn ring right away, man you have to get that fixed! Take care of her, she really is beautiful Martin.

Unlike today's cars, these cars typically only had a life span of about 80 K miles The average car on the road today is 12 years old. Then, the average car on the road was about 7 years old, and a 12 year old car was ANCIENT. I was born in 1963, and I can remember seeing a few of these still on the road when I was little, but not many, and they were all beaters.

That was my Dad's car. I grew up riding in it. He had manual spot light on the driver's side. 13 mpg and a very distinctive engine sound. The interior upholstery was of poor quality, but mechanically it was bullet proof. Never had to do anything except change oil and brake pads. Loads of room and a comfortable ride. Could accelerate too. It came with a bumper jack. Now try that with a modern car.

An absolutely stunning car! Great video!! I would love to one day own a vintage retro car if I manage to afford one. Unfortunately due to many cars being decades old a lot of them require rust repairs which cost a lot from what I've heard. Also I live in the U.K so it would be quite a struggle to park large cars like this.

All the '59 Chevy's are beautiful cars, even after almost 60 years. The Biscayne looks the neatest of all, with its minimal use of chrome trim and the taillight lenses without the chrome ribs. I would like to bring up this fact: Years ago, there was this public service announcement on TV in which four (or was it three?) young men steal a '59 Chevy after the owner left the keys in the ignition. The young men went on a joyride, during which they drove through a red light and a '64 Chevy collides with them, and one of them is carried out on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance. Scary, wasn't it? I've been trying to find it, but so far no luck.

My parents bought this exact car, same colors, in 1958. It was a beautiful car, but it was the "cursed" car. The first week they owned it the neighbor kids set their house on fire and our garage caught on fire. They all got out ok, and my mom had to jump in the new car in the burning garage to get it out. Then, she had to get our garden hose and put the flames out on it. It was involved in three rear ends at red lights, twice broadsided while parked (an old guy backed out of his driveway and went across six lanes to hit it while missing all the other cars, second time we were at church and someone parked on a steep hill and forgot to put their car emergency brake on and wham, our car was the only one hit on the entire street!). Last but not least, it was stolen while we were at church. When the police called to tell my dad it had been found he said, "KEEP IT!" I have never bought a maroon or red colored car in my life due to being completely freaked out by these events (ok, a little superstitious). But, it was still A GREAT CAR!

You can tell the car has the powerglide, by the way it "howls", when it is idling in park-love that sound! This is an amazing transmission, I have owned at least 6 Chevys with the P.G.. It shifts at about 15 m.p.h., and then just keeps building torque! I believe the torque converter is also part of this system. What a great car-would be amazing to own it!

...Always liked both the '59 and '60 Chevy styling in their full sized cars... With the exception of Cadillac, GM was setting its mind on _"Phasin' out the Fin,"_ stating, _"We've got to have a 'less classic,' lighter, more futuristic design for next decade, and into the one after that!"_ By 1962, the Chevy division had done exactly that, as well as Pontiac... By the mid 60s, only Cadillac was romancing any type of "finnage" on their body styles...

I think GM could easily construct the dies to build retro cars of this model and year... I would buy one! I just love those old Chevys... My dad had one just like this one around 1963.

By the 80's nothing GM had looked good at all. And if you ever saw one of these 59's 'crash tested' it collapses like a styrofoam egg carton; run into a new Impala with a 59 and the 59 will be destroyed.

They'd be doing that if they thought people would buy them. Nobody wants a retro sedan. Maybe sports cars. But, the new Camaros and Corvettes are beautiful! Why go retro? Let Ford (Mustang) and Chrysler (Challenger) have that market. It's all they have. LOL.

All the struggling car manufacturers have to do is make these again modern but shape the body and interior as close to the same as possible and they'll sell faster than any car ever has

@@samspace81 Love the 59 Chevy with the one year only taillights. And the way they did that body in general is just gorgeous. Maybe one day I can get one and the Les Paul. 59 Les Paul is now $400,000. Insane what anything cost these days.
