@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Жыл бұрын
This truck had new suspension components before we started the airbag conversion, including upper and lower shafts and caps. The reason it looks like it shifts whe the tension comes off is because as it started to extend, the tension decreased and Adrian (Dave's assistant) twisted the handle on the jack and it sped-up making it look like it shifted/moved. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

Restoring my childhood farm truck, a 1967 C10 long bed. I like to place a full sheet of $80 plywood in the back, close the tail and nurse my presses cargo home. I am very happy with my new stock 1/2 ton brothers rear springs and heavy shocks but getting to the front. Modified to tandem brake master & dual diaphragm booster the works perfect, I was curious if a guy who has now plans to up & down 16 times a day (unless wife say otherwise) can a guy tee these front bags together and just air them up, test drive, find a sweet spot and leave alone? I like things simple, reliable and by design, longevity. Even soaping the fittings and use liquid PTFE thread sealant correctly. Good point on the grommets for lines. I have seen hundreds of truck amps w/welding cable over a doors weather strip. Way too my wrong. Scotch Locks & loud radios sell parts! I am done fixing vehicles on flat rate. Yeah! It depends on the setup really. Normally smoother, but it can be fine tuned with spacers on the bags so you could vary the air pressure to "tune" the ride quality to your liking. So we guess the answer is... it's up to you.

You don't have a lot of options lifting a 2wd except maybe using coil spring spacers. If it's a 4x4 then you can use blocks or even lifted leaf springs. On a 2wd or 4x4 you could also do a body lift, but that doesn't make much more than a cosmetic difference.

If I have a front cross member that seats the top of an airbag instead of bolting the plate to the upper control arm, are the top of these bags capable of mounting there without the plates instead?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV2 жыл бұрын
Our air bags are not tall enough for that type of mounting. Additionally, because the angle of the bag changes as it arcs, we don't recommend mounting up in the top seat because of the potential for it to rub on the crossmember and eventually get a leak.

@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV2 жыл бұрын

How much air pressure in those bags if you have a full factory load limit ?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV3 жыл бұрын
The amount of pressure is going to vary wildly by the application (ie; 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, longbed, shortbed, metal floor, wood floor, etc). For reference, our bags are rated to a max pressure of 600psi, and have a load range of 350-3000 lbs per bag which exceeds the factory load limit of a 1/2 ton truck by a LOT. Our suggestion is to add air under load until your desired ride height is reached and note that pressure for your specific application.

Be prepared to change springs at least once even if calling customer service first for approximate spring. But one thing to keep in mind is service. Depending on use, but shocks have to be removed, sent to an authorized facility to have them over-hauled complete. This is because valving can fatigue, seals wear, oil degrades with time, use & wear. "And their not a lot of time and trouble to install". Oh yeah, try doing any other truck outside a Chevy.

Okay, i did it on my GMC and it was still easy 😂

@@MegaWillinator Chevy and GMC are the same thing. SMH. Try doing a Torsion bar truck or a Ranger. And if you want to lay frame No truck is "easy".

@@Ladysman_217 lmao I was only making a joke, I know that non GM products are substantially harder to make alterations to. My buddy swapped a crown Vic front subframe into his D150 to avoid dealing with the stock stuff

Is this all one kit or it is made up of multiple kits?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV4 жыл бұрын
It's one kit if you have a 63-72 Chevy or GMC truck with rear coil springs. Otherwise we would take care of you using multiple kits. The direct link to this part is in the video description.

@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV okay, so is there anything that prevents metal to metal wear between the lower cup and control arm? If no welding or bolts are used for the lower cup, what keeps it from moving around in the pocket?

Do you have a diagram on paper
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV2 жыл бұрын
A routing diagram? If that's what your talking about we don't have one. Routing of the air lines is sort of dealt with on a job-by-job basis depending on tank in the cab, hidden under the cab, behind the bumper, etc.

Did you have to C notch for the rear bags?

We didn't "have to", but we did C-Notch this truck. That video came this morning, check it out on our channel.
