I just installed one of these WCR seals today, I am a seasoned installer and very familiar with older rubber set cars. I'm the one they call when no one else wants to touch it. Arrived to install Cust glass in truck, cust had used glass and an Unmarked seal, seal would not stay on glass no matter what you did. Tape, 4 hands swearing and none of those worked. I stopped and got a Precision seal and it was not much better, We wiped it down with alcohol to get some of the slickness of it and it still took too many hands and no amount of tape would keep it on. I resorted to something that I was not sure was going to work, but was wrong. I laid the seal on the bench and installed the trim in the seal separate the glass. Amazingly it went together rather easily. Was assembled we took it and laid it on the glass and installed it as a unit, still took two seasoned glass guys to get it on and fit. We offered it up to the truck and centered it in the opening, when doing and of these older truck I find 3 people is the answer. I drive the truck up to the wall and lay a packing blanket on the hood or have the hood and put the 3rd person pushing form the outside at the center of the glass arms spread shoulder width, with 2 installers armed with tools we slowly peel the double lip over the pinchweld. I advise putting the clips on first. When pulling out the rolled under lip I like to hit it with a little WD40 as it prevents the lip from dragging or cutting. I think that seal is a little too thick in the extrusion as it was super tight going in and the trim showed the witness marks being extended and the seal standing proud. I properly sealed it but the lip did not lay down on the glass, The glass was original to the truck. If I had been at the shop I may have ground a little off the glass to prevent this. Bottom line it's in but not a job for a newbie. Took myself and another guy well over an hour.

Put mine in as my first windshield install. Had the trim in and the top corner the trim is half in half out the rubber. Is there a way to get the trim to go back in without removing the whole windshield? It's about 8 inches of trim not fully seated

Funny enough, some of the older Lanz tractors didn’t even have a reverse gear. You’d just have to reverse the engine.

Robert Hass is right, leaving masking tape in there is a bad idea. Also using no sealant like original will allow water to seep between gasket and pinch weld and WILL cause the pinch weld to rust away. Every time it rains or you go to the car wash, water will remain in there for weeks/months.

lubrication is your friend boys. Also learning the "Slap" that all glaziers learn early in their careers will get the glass and rubber settled with less stress and in a quarter of the time. Leaving that masking tape in the pinch weld will absolutely make that windshield leak like a sieve.

Any tricks to get the trim to seat if it pops out a bit after the whole window is in? Have about 8 inches of trim on the top corner that isn't fully seated in the groove and sticking out a bit.

Using a hook tool, or ball end hook tool on the windshield side of the trim pull the gasket away from the chrome trim and force the trim down into the trim groove at the same time. Basically opening the trim groove up so the trim can try to seat fully into the gasket. It is very tough to get that much to go back in, but if you work it enough it will get better.

Precision Replacement Parts This Video is about installing a windshield using “your gasket”. You recorded this video saying the gaskets are “a loose fit”. In this video you are using tape because its so loose. Yet the 3 gaskets I have purchased. Every single gasket, has never wrapped over the windshield. I spend 2 days stretching the gaskets and fighting to get them attached.

@@dimnotion Did all these gaskets come in a green Precision bag? You should not be spending 2 days trying to stretch them.

Precision Replacement Parts i had one from classic industries that came in a clear bag with a sticker that said 64-66 c10. This newest one from them is a green bag with your logo. The other i purchased from amazon was green. All have been short. The clear bag was extremely short like 60% of the window. The green bags only cover 80%. I have the gasket half way on right now, just giving my hands a break from the pain.
