Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present a pristine 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible. No expense was spared during the restoration of this 64' Galaxie. Take one look at the chrome and other shiny pieces and you will know not one piece was passed over. Options on this 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible include: AM Radio, Automatic Convertible Top, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Chrome American Racing Torque Thrust Wheel, and Radial Tires. Finished in triple black, with loads of chrome all over, this Galaxie has traveled only 83 miles since its completed restoration. Drop the top and the brand new interior makes its presence felt with authority, with a little help from Jack Roush's signature on the glove box. Behind the new American Racing wheels are brand new disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear. These new brakes will help control the power of what is hidden under the hood. Open that hood, chrome and polished metal immediately take your attention, then you see the Roush air cleaner and valve covers, your first hint of something special. It started as a 390 CID, but after Roush was done it became a 402 CID Ford Iron Block FE engine. Ford cast crankshaft regrounded -.020" / -.020 and nitrided, bored 4.115" and stroked 3.780", internally balanced, diamond forged pistons (10.19 to 1 compression ratio), Eagle 6.490" H-Beam connecting rods, Trend pushrods, comp cams hydraulic roller camshaft and lifters (Thumpr Series), Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads #60069, Harland Sharpe shaft mounted rocker assembly, Canton oil pan, Melling oil pump, Billet Specialties Tru-Trac Fead System, MSD Distributor, and a Holley 770 CFM vacuum secondary carburetor. This beautiful and powerful (404 horsepower and 427 ft-lbs of torque) engine is mated with Sanderson Headers and an all new exhaust, which makes for a truly awesome sound of aggression. The 3 speed Ford-O-Matic transmission makes driving this phenomenal example of a muscle car truly a breeze. This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible will not and cannot disappoint. Best looking full size Ford ever built. My Mom bought a 2 year old 2dr 500XL fastback, black with red interior and beautiful white headliner. It was a 352 4bbl 3 spd auto. and it never failed to wow even Chevy lovers. It had enough interior lighting to look at home in Las Vegas! Opera lights on the rear pillars, dome light, lights under both driver and passenger footwells and those eye catching courtesy/warning lights on the lower door panels. My high school girlfriend's Mother drove a big, decked out white Buick and when I gave her a lift to a neighbor's house she said "What a beautiful car, what is it?" When I told her it was a Ford Galaxie 500 XL she replied "Wow, I didn't know Ford made a car this nice." To top it off, this woman was very tough to impress. That comment made my day!

I love everything about it. Wouldn't mind seeing the exhaust extensions tucked away at the tail end of the car but other than that it's perfect. Nicely restored.

Right about the exhaust, which is easily remedied. They just scream AFTERMARKET. The factory, if I recall right, had low restriction mufflers just before the exhaust tips. I like the look of standard factory exhaust tips just beneath the rear bumper. The tips are still visible, but much more subtle. Other than that mild cosmetic, the car is absolutely stunning.

Don't like the gauge cluster at all, but besides that, FUCKING AWESOME!! That 427 rumble.....baby!! I give this beaut a 9/10 (one point for the gauge cluster, personal opinion) Great job on this '64! My dream car!!!!!!
