On this episode we are working on Okie, the 65 Nova Wagon. We were not happy with the way Okie's front end was sitting and we wanted to lower the get it lower. We installed an Aldan American Suspension kit for a difference of over 2 inches. We are pretty happy with the results. Let us know what you agree!
Parts used during this episode:

@@richardsmith-qy6vl I do love it when Sarah is in the garage with me. But it doesn’t happen often. We usually have different days off. Yep. The body and everything on the outside is completely original. The interior was redone with one of those classic industries kits. To the original color. The engine and transmission is a correct nova recessed oil filter engine. Out of a 66 nova. The brakes and front suspension is upgraded and changed to disc. The alternator is a one wire. But other than that the wiring is back to original. There is several videos of some of that work. If you scroll back on my channel. I really appreciate the support!!! A set of sbc 305 Vortec heads and a genuine imitation RPM Airgap dual plane intake would wake that little 283 up a lot. GM had EQ repop the sbc 305 and 350 Vortec heads as factory replacements. They come with screw in studs and they're machined for conventional seals right out of the box. Hatch's Recreational Engineering on here installed a set of the 305 Vortec heads on his sbc 307 in his 70 Nova that has a th350 with a 2800 stall with a 3.73 rear gear. It's topped off with a genuine imitation RPM Airgap with a 600 Holley double pumper. It has a Summit 1203 cam which is a stage 4 4/7 swap cam. His best to date QM time is 13.9. He just posted a new track video but he had to keep it above 14 seconds because that's what they claim his helmet was rated for.🙄 So he couldn't go all out and try the upgrades he did. Even if you didn't swap out the cam and just went with the heads and intake upgrade that little 283 would still like those upgrades. It would help raise your compression ratio and you would get more performance and mpg. If it has a Powerglide in it, swap that out for a 200R4 with a 3.73 rear gear and make it a really fun driver that gets even better fuel economy. Dealers choice, the more words the better it is for the algorithm.😎👍
@tackettshoh
@tackettshoh 23 күн бұрын
@@itseithergonnaworkoritaint7852 I appreciate all the words…… lol. As always thank you for the support! The little 283 does much better now once I changed the intake and slapped a Holley 600 on it. @@tackettshoh At least change the transmission, no one will know unless you tell them you installed a 200R4. @@tackettshoh Besides the real paint by numbers cars are the factory hot rods from back in the day, not the Gramma grocery getters from back then. For the Chevy cars back then you would want to paint by numbers would be the SS, RS, RS/SS, Yenko and others like these.🤷

@itseithergonnaworkoritaint7852 23 күн бұрын
@@tackettshoh Do it, the 200R4 will take you from a 1.82 1st gear to a 2.74 first gear and then you get a second gear that's not 1:1 plus a .67:1 overdrive. Swap in a better rear gear and it will be WAY more fun to daily drive and it'll use less fuel to boot on the highway. You paint the Vortec heads and genuine imitation RPM Airgap dual plane intake Chevy orange 🧡 and very few people will notice or care that the heads and intake aren't date and numbers correct.🤔 Or are you taking this car to Concours d'Elegance car shows where paint by numbers matters?🤣😂😁😎👍
