Hey Lou, did OPG have the original POP or window sticker, or any other documentation which certifies that this auto came direct from the factory with a 427? I only ask because the 427 was never an option for the Chevy compact or sub compact models (Chevelle and Nova) in 1966. The only vehicles that the 427 was available in were Corvettes and the full size Impalas. Also, if it came from the factory with an original 427, why the 396 badges??? I call BS! The hottest engine available that year for the Chevelle Super Sport was the 396-360 HP, but a very few were equipped with the 396-375 HP version in the later months of 1966. Otherwise a beautiful car - but I must also add that real muscle cars back in that day came with 3 pedals...

Wonderful car Lou. One of the first model car kits i put together was a 66 chevelle (13 years old). I have always debated in my head which I liked more the 66 or 67 , both awesome. These cars beg for big tires in the back with those big flowing rear quarters. The thing that I love about this one is the matching green interior /exterior (always looks right to me). My first car was a 70 holden monaro coupe red with red interior so this beauty does it for me and the 427 is icing on the cake. cheers steve

I'm a little late to this party. Beautiful car, but it is absolutely NOT a factory 427 car, nor is it numbers matching. Colors are not original as per the trim tag on the firewall, and the trim tag is pop-riveted on without correct factory rivets. Trans is not original. Gauges are repro. And if they HAD ever built a factory solid lifter 427 Chevelle in 66, it could NOT have come with air conditioning because that combo was not allowed until some time after 1970. Another case of a nice car saddled with an enormous BS story. Sorry, but owners of cars like this should just represent them as what they are, and not try to be fiction writers.

From there cars were born with options that they weren't supposed to have. I have known people who worked at the factory and they all did the same thing. They also say in the video that this car was born with this engine.
