In '66, the guys at Chevy really got the styling right with the Chevelle. Today, with a few restomod upgrades, it looks better than ever. It must be a blast to drive on the road - as long as you don't stray too far from any gas stations.

Yeh! A very alarming car! That’s a great exhaust note. That engine must have a very big cam to idle like that with a 502. I usually go for cars that are stock, but this restomod is done VERY well. Glad the wife picked the color. Thanks Lou. Another great car story.

The car itself is beautiful. The '66 Chevelle SS is one of the first plastic model kits I built when I was a kid. But I really don't like that steering wheel, the rims, or the front stereo speakers. The steering wheel looks like a generic parts catalog cheap modification. Should really stick to factory on old cars. The wheels would look a lot better if they were more similar to the stock mags. And they should have painted the speaker grilles or used an interior color standard speaker grill cover. Again that just sort of screams cheap add on.

Nice but I'd ditch that steering wheel. My fav Chevelle years are 1966, 67, 69 and 70. I don't like the 68 tail lights. In 1973 I owned a 1964 Chevelle.

@@loucostabile , I simply don't like Automatic trans , my 138 Super Sport has a M-21 Muncie 4 speed like it came from the factory , All Super Sport's had 4 speed trans , unless it was a special order , and this Chevelle is Not , I would simply pull that auto junk out and replace it with a M-20 , M-21 ,M-22 Rock Crusher or the New M-23 Super Rock Crusher , The M-23 has cryogenically Harden gears and then it would be for ME . And you don't mind if I installed an 11 inch heavy duty clutch do you ? I didn't think so .
