Very cool car. Love the fact you are improving it with PS and air, but still keeping it very original looking. Oh yea, with fuel injection, and that hood. Can’t wait for the update.

Wow! That engine and exhaust note just sound sublime! Whatever audio equipment you’re using, you’re doing it right! I can’t tell you how many other car channels out there cannot capture an exhaust note to do the car justice.

Thanks! We sell more than Mustangs, although we are known all over the world for high quality, rare Mustangs. The amount of cars we have at any one time fluctuates but 99% of the cars you see in our possession we own ourselves. Our policy is, it doesn't come in the door unless we would own it ourselves... we deal only in the "keepers". Check out our website and you can see the kind of cars we have... MyRod.com .

Leaving it stock increases the value...Resto-mod might be a little better, but it's pretty hard to find one that clean and original.

It's a 50/50 thing in my opinion. The market loves the restored and will pay significant premiums for well done cars, however the counter to that is the market is a blend of folks that have different taste. Therefore there is a segment of would be buyers who are far more interested in the "original" cars, especially one as significant as this one. I am somewhere in between, having a great appreciation for both as long as the restored is a MILD version in which the visual identity of the car is left substantially alone.

I always wanted to put in an LS3/LT engine but after watching this, I can understand why someone would want to keep the stock engine with some performance upgrades. It's greater than the sum of its parts and its performance specs on paper.

I never understand why an ORIGINAL S-Code fastback or convertible is restomoded. They are very valuable as original. If youi want to restomod a car, get a C Code and do what you want. ANyway that is waht I did with my 67 FB (was lime gold 3 speed manual no power > now nightmist blue, crate engine, power steer, disc brakes)
@QualityClassics

They are valuable either way.

I live in Europe, over here the fuel economy and co 2 emission represents a big issue. The thing is I just love the 69 fastback body. So I use this opportunity to ask experts, can 2.3 l ecoboost engine accompanied by 6 speed manual transmission fit into 69 fastback body? As far as I can see this option is not very common in US. It's probably because of affordable gas prices and the fact that 5.0 l coyote engine is brought to perfection. According to Ford, ecoboost is suitable for restomod enthusiasts.

Nice!! I love your work and cars you guys do. I am a Mustang lover. I have two and had 9 in my life time. The one got a way was a 67 Mach 1. So will your upgrades make the value more or less? I have a 67 and I was thinking of doing the same, upgrading the suspension, motor, brakes ect.I know it will make the ride better. A 5 speed just sounds weird. Why not just change the rear end. Keep the 4 speed. 390 is killer! Mine is black too. It has a tired 289. Is it worth rebuilding 289? People are telling me to get a crate 302. It seems to me the original motor would be the smart thing, but the gas is different now. Thank for sharing your guys work. I follow you all the time for Ideas.
@QualityClassics
@QualityClassics 4 жыл бұрын
The 5-speed with the right rear gear basically lets you keep the 4-speed experience and adds an overdrive 5th if you will. Changing to a real tall rear gear typically dilutes the performance experience.
