I'm 79 so I saw these cars when they first came out, like Mitchel's Sting Ray concept, E type, 63 Vette but the 68 was and is breathtaking. The Avanti was great but Gandini's 😢😢Countach remains the most stunning car design ever. My dad had a 55 Chevy. Wow. How about a 67 Buick Riviera? That 68 Vette is as fresh today as it was back then. Thanks for sharing. I've owned 11 Vettes.

It's stunning. I love the red on red . The paint is gorgeous. Must be a rocket if he actually stood on it. It sounds amazing . Love it 😊❤

L bought a 1967 427 3 435 hp black on black Corvette in late 1966. Had all the go fast options and engine identical to the red Vette. 3.36 posi rear end so top end at red line was about 154 mph indicated on thec160 mph speedo. and yes it was fast. very very fast. The car was trouble free except zi cganged out the valve springs at 10 000 due to problems with original springs on this engine. In 1969 a met a guy from Texas with a blue on blue 68 427 435 hp L89 and ac3.36 posi. Our cars performed almost identically except he could corner at higher speeds due to the 68 body architectue allowing for wider tires. He had considerable persistent difficulties with the concealed wipersxand head lights both of which were apersted by vacuum rather than electrical motors alongcwith some electrical problems and rattles. THis was predictable due to the 68 being the model change over year. The C2 had similar problens in 63 and to a lesser degree going into 64 By 65 the problems continued due to the intro of the 396 and disc brakes. The 66 and 67svwere fully sorted and gave almost no trouble. The C3s were a similar story. By 70 theyvwere fully sorted and 70 snd 71 were the ones to own as they had the LS 6 454 and LT1 small block and except for the troublesom v as cuum system were fully sorted in general. Regretablely, they lost the 3x2 induction system upon the switch to the 454. The 454 LS6 was acsomewhat different animal than the L89 427. Make no mistake it was very very fast Geared at 3.36 you noticed the 454 LS 6 was making noticeably more torque at 2000 rpm and was more docile in heavy slow traffic. The tradeoff was that it wouldnt wind up as fast particularly above 4500. And you didnt have the kick in the seat at around 3500 as with the 427 3x2 435 which then spun up more quickly to red line and beyond. Idk Which car was faster as I have never seen a back to back match up of an identically equipped C2 L89 and C3 454 LS 6 at the same strip on the same day driven by the same driver.

Car looks Nice but, no special transmission with an L-71, as you had a Std M-21 and could option a M-20 or very few had the optional straight cut gears with an M-22.
